Hi anyone any advice? I ruptured a muscle in back last December, which then led to 3 discs popping out. Iv been getting physio from July (had to wait that long on appointment). Iv two discs still that keep popping and just aren't stable. Went to physio for usual appointment three weeks ago just when I found out I was pregnant and she explained she couldnt do anything until after 12 weeks. I'm only 6 weeks. Doc told me I can take paracetamol, but as pregnancy is dodgy I don't want to take anything at all. I usually would use deep heat but was told def not to. Help I'm in agony. Been doing my exercise but nothing easing it.

Take the paracetamol, it is safe! No need to suffer more than you have to. Can you be asked to be referred to a physio that specialises in pregnancy? Would swimming help? Also, if you have done Pilates in the past, maybe you could try that? They don't recommend starting new exercise in pregnancy, but you have a good reason.

The exercises I was doing was ones physio gave me. I did pilates and a lot of them.were Pilates moves. I had to wait 7 months on this appointment lol, wouldn't want to start the process over again. She will treat me, once I have my dating scan

I thought deep heat was ok??? Hot water bottle???

cloudjumper · 12/11/2015 13:18

No, I think that generally, they advise against deep heat and hot water bottles during pregnancy (but I could be wrong).

Yeah anything that raises temp, I was told not to. Esp so early on. Iv a wheat bag (was told they're ok) iv been using but not really helping .

Paracetamol is fine .

Junosmum · 12/11/2015 14:28

Take the paracetamol- if you are in lots of pain that will be your body's main focus and you want it to be baby!

Could you push for an earlier scan to do this or get your midwife/ gp to say physio is ok (if it is?)

bluewisteria · 12/11/2015 14:30

Doc can prescribe co codamol which would help more and is safe.
Also you can get pregnancy physio on nhs, I would have thought go could fast track you for that? I would talk to them about deep heat and heat pads, I can't imagine they could raise your whole body temp more than a warm bath or shower? And you aren't putting them directly on the tummy either.

*gp not go!

Can't get earlier scan as had one Monday and no hb. Epc said to wait for two weeks to check if any growth and if hb present.Il take paracetamol and see if that helps.
