Bugger. Brie is on the soft-cheese no-no list isn't it?

don;t worry !!!!!!!!!!! a one off is not a problem...is some brie not pasteurised ( i never eat that sort of cheese at all !!)

i had a liver pate sandwich when pregnant with DD...and cried when i realised i had forgotten i was pregnant !!!

i honestly wouldn;t worry. xx if you bought the cheese from a reputable place and it was well refrigerated etc

Mumpbump · 07/12/2006 13:02

Don't worry - I ate brie all through my pg with ds and everything was fine...

I know the risk is low, it is the mould -ripened bit rather than the unpasturised bit that is the concern apparently - listeria bacteria etc.

What the hell, if I were french I wouldn't even be giving this a second thought.

Hi

I have been eaten these too, as long as the brie is pasturised - most supermarkets sell at least 1 now it is ok, wouldnt worry to much anyway, as long as it was kept in good conditions

It is the listeris bit which is a problem ins't it? How do you know if you've got listeria?

paulaplumpbottom · 07/12/2006 20:56

Oh don't worry about it, i'm sure it won't be the last slip up in your pregnancy.

DizzyBinterWonderland · 07/12/2006 21:02

don't worry. if you were in france you'd be told to eat it.

Anglaise1 · 08/12/2006 06:36

I'm sure you'll be fine as most cheeses in sandwiches are pasteurised in the UK. Just a quick point, the advice in France is not to eat anything you want, you are told (as in the UK) to minimise the risk of listeria to avoid unpasteurised soft cheeses and remove the rind of all cheeses before eating. It really is very strict over here now!
