hi, i've just found out i'm pregnant and am about 6 weeks.
I've got a voucher for the thermae spa in bath for a twilight package that has to be used by the end of november - am i ok to use it?
Midwife i phoned said i should be fine but dont go in jacuzzis - but she also said she had no idea what they thermae baths were like!
I think i'm ok... is there any reason NOT to go?!

There are some steam rooms there which may not be suitable because of the heat. The roof pool is warm but not hot so that should be fine and the same for the indoor pool.

Go and enjoy yourself but just avoid the various steam rooms then go back and treat yourself when the baby is born congratulations!

It is basically steam rooms and the spa pool. You shouldn't use the steam rooms but will be ok in the pool, just be careful not to get too hot. You won't really get the full experience to be honest but it is still a nice place.

I've been a few times before to the Thermae Spa in Bath and wanted to book a treat for our anniversary in December when I'll be 30 weeks pregnant. I called them and was told the pools outside on the roof and downstairs on the ground floor are fine but you can't use the steam rooms on the middle floor. You can access both pools without needing to go anywhere near the steam rooms. They also do treatments for Mums-to-be which you can book on top of the twilight package. So go relax and enjoy being pampered for the day!

Sorry, should probably say you can't use the steam rooms due to the heat but also because they use essential oils in them and they are quite strong, even when you're not pregnant. There are four pods in a larger room and they vary in heat and use different essential oils in each one. Nice but not an essential part of the visit, swimming or floating around in the heated spa pools is just as relaxing!

thanks ladies :-) to be honest i fully intend to go again post pregnancy, but don't want to waste this voucher! we've renewed twice already and aren't allowed to do it again.
Hubby's job got in the way all of last year, then we were going to go in summer but i ended up admitted with stinking eye ulcer so that was three months with no swimming pools - so i'm determined to go and enjoy it lol!
WOn't be able to get massage as in first trimester booo, but an evening relaxing will be nice!
