I had DD in my bedroom. We said if DS was awake we would have baby in the bed room and if he was asleep we would have baby downstairs in the lounge.

Also, homebirthing was not messy for me!!!! I think it is a bit of a myth there will be blood and guts everywhere. We put down plastic dust sheets with old sheets on top and the midwives brought absorbant mats (a bit like those pampers baby mats but bigger). Afterwards they asked us if we wanted to wash the sheets but as we used old ones we didn't want to so they bundled them up and took them to hospital to be incinerated. No mess at all!
