I'm approaching 35 weeks and getting my hospital gear together. I've been told to buy cheap underwear that I don't mind throwing away. What size should I be looking at? One or two larger than my normal pre-pregnancy size? Not sure how big they'll need to be Blush

I had a planned csection, got two sizes bigger massive knickers from Primark, they were a godsend.

Sorry should have said my baby is 11 weeks old.

Oh I should add, I'm hoping for a vaginal delivery but baby is still in breech position so a planned c-section is a high possibility. Would the size I need depend on the type of delivery? I can get two sets.

I got "full briefs" in 2 sizes bigger (maternity pads are like mattresses!) and they turned out to be a lifesaver as I ended up with an EMCS! Would have been very comfy after a vaginal birth too I imagine. My baby is now almost 2 and I'm 35 weeks pregnant and I still buy huge tent-like pants Blush

Thank you!! He's doing really well. I am back at work now (sad face) so miss him loads, but he's getting on well at nursery and being well looked after.
The sleepless nights are not so easy when I have to get up at 5am ha!

Totally irrelavent but I read the title as posh delivery pants and thought it didn't sound a good idea!

newbian · 29/09/2015 11:23

Maroonie hah! Grin Nope I'm in the market for cheap and cheerful (and huge).

I wore the same ones as I wore during pregnancy. Yes, mat pads are quite thick but most pants are stretchy, and you will lose most of your bump (and what will be left will be soft and squishy). It was a VB though, not a SC.
