Movements at 22 weeks

I'm 22 weeks today. From about 17 weeks I've had flutters. They stopped a few days ago and now I just get the occasional dull thud deep inside and low down. I hope these are kicks but I'm far from sure as I've also been very windy Blush
I can't feel anything from the outside yet and the thuds are really sporadic. My placenta is posterior. I'm worried something's wrong. Other women at this stage are feeling a lot more and definite movements.
Can anyone offer any wisdom? Is it normal for the fluttering to stop? What were your movements like at 22 weeks?
TIA!

I first felt flutters at about 16 weeks, very few and far between though, I would go days without feeling anything until about 24/25 weeks!

At 22 weeks I didn't feel very much!

I had an anterior placenta felt first flicks and pops 17 and a half weeks then stopped for a week. Was very spaced out baby sometimes hid. Started feeling constant movement around 24 weeks also baby is still quite low so u could be feel them kick down in pelvis I'm 30 weeks and she still kicks very low x

I'm 23+3 today OP and have only really established a pattern of definite kicks over the past few days. They say not to monitor patterns until around 24-28 weeks for that exact reason - that baby is still small and can easily kick into thin air. I started to be aware of something going on at around 18 weeks. Like you my placenta is posterior. I hope this provides some reassurance, I also completely identify with your description of 'occasional low thud', that's exactly how I would have put it if asked.

I'm 22+5 and getting the shit kicked out of me if I'm honest. However, this is DC2. Is this your first?

Don't forget they can still hide at this stage, and have quiet periods. Despite the forceful movements I get, I still have times when I worry if they're OK in there as s/he can sometimes not do much for quite a while.

As pp said, patterns don't really become regular until 28 weeks. Try not to worry, but if you are concerned I would have a chat with your midwife. You'll probably find after baby moves into a different position or has a growth spurt you'll be feeling loads of kicks and punches.

Thanks all. Yes it is my first.
I do feel reassured.
I think I felt some kicks earlier after drinking some ice water and stuffing my face with haribo
It's so hard not to worry.

First feelings of movement for me were at 20wks and didn't feel actual kicks until 22wks, and even then they were only twitches. It probably wasn't until 24wks that I could feel them externally and regularly. First pregnancy.

Hey Oyster I've pretty much just posted this exact same thing on the January thread!! It's so hard to know what's what! While I'm lying in bed,
I'm feeling all sorts of wind type feelings & the odd bubbling type thing. It's so weird cos I just don't know what it is going to feel like to actually feel the baby kick. I've been so worried about it because some people are saying they have felt Things from about 16 weeks. The only way id know I was pregnant was by the football stuck up my top Wink
Fingers crossed this kicking starts very soon and isn't as painful as I've heard!! Xx

I find that if I'm doing something else, pretty much anything else I don't notice movement anywhere near as much as if I'm sat watching tv or in bed.

I've been feeling kicks since 16 weeks and then all moevemtn seemed to stop for 3/4 days at 22 weeks! Now I've had a noticeable growth spurt and baby is back and kicking more than ever at 23 weeks! Maybe you are due a growth spurt too?

Thanks everyone!
I think the baby must have moved position because it's been kicking it up a storm today, even DH has been able to feel it :)
