Baby hiccuping

I am 33+4 and my baby is hiccuping around 3 times per day. Often after I eat. I gather this is normal but have been worried by reading that it can be a sign of being tangled up in the cord. Are others feeling lots of hiccups at this stage?

I was constantly kept awake by hiccups, my little one is three months old now and still hiccups a lot, he's absolutely perfect

Same as above, baby had almost constant hiccups during pregnancy and gets them at least twice a day now at 8 wks and there were no issues with the cord.

I'm 23 weeks and had my first experience of in utero hiccups last week. Just be mindful that hiccups are NOT classed as movement. As long as baby is moving as well you should be fine.

My first was a major hiccupper! I used to worry too but it's pointless. And normal!

Currently 38+5 baby has had hiccups constantly, like you normally after food. He's fine.

My dd 6 had hiccups lots too and she had hiccups for a while after she was born...perfectly normal xx

Mine hiccups all the time and my son spent most of the day he was born with hiccups - the midwives kept coming to look at him as they were so loud! No issues with cord, no reason to worry IMO.

My DS2 was super hiccupy - I had also read those stories/warnings and was very concerned. He would often have more than 5 bouts a day, especially towards the end. I was checked several times, all was good. He arrived healthy and... hiccupping! I actually felt him hiccupping during labour. He was also very hiccupy during the first three months. At 9 months he has now outgrown them, it seems!
