feel free to add your own and vent!

rib pain
reflux
constant bloody burping
heartburn
piles
constipation
the stress of not knowing how/if i'll cope
stupid health "professionals" whose knowledge is years out of date
companies trying to sell me crap for my baby that isn't healthy
stretched ligaments
not being able to walk anything like as far as i normally can
not allowed enough coffee (or any, depending on who you believe)
not allowed any alcohol (don't get me started on the NHS's crap advice about alcohol limites)
not getting enough support
the stress of not knowing how/if the government will punish us single parents in the next few years (I've got a job now but mat leave looms)
the stress of thinking about the birth and worrying if i'll struggle to breastfeed
not being able to eat certain things
trying to avoid things that are unhealthy for the baby
not having the time or energy to do all this stuff that i should be able to do (eg talking and singing to the baby, meditation etc, nevermind any actual bloody exercise, don't mention the pelvic floor!!!!)
And a whole load of other things that are worse than the above, but I'll stop there with the moaning list.
Lastly, I want to give thanks for this baby and the chance of happiness. It's been a XXXX of a journey to get here.

Ooo, I want to join in!!

Although many have been mentioned already...

  • Constant sickness/nausea/retching day and night
  • Constant burping
  • Forcing food down, developing a hate relationship with food
  • Weeing all the bloody time (downstairs toilet - the trek at night time - I hate!)
  • Weeing in the day when I sneeze (no I haven't been doing my bloody pelvic floor exercises)
  • Blood tests - hate them hate them hate them
  • Peeing in a small container (always always get pee on my hands)
  • having my belly prodded by midwife. It's so hairy now it's embarrassing.
  • Extra hair growth everywhere. I have practically developed a beard.
  • Spots. As if I couldn't feel any more unattractive right now.
  • Farting. Really? So ladylike. My DH and I both work from home, and I don't do farting in front of him, so I have to keep finding ways to leave the room so I can let rip. It's getting quite stressful.
  • Lack of sex. Because feeling sick all the bloody time doesn't really put you in a sexy mood. Plus I'm such a moody cow, I'm not sure DH wants to.
  • Vivid dreams. What the fuck?! I am exhausted with all the dreaming, feels like I haven't slept (which I haven't if you count all the toilet trips).
  • Smells. Smells everywhere!!!! Everyone smells, everything smells, and I hate it!! Soon as I get a whiff of anything I retch.
  • Cleaning my teeth. Why does cleaning my teeth make me retch? I'm no where near the back of my throat, give me a break.
  • Vampire look - bleeding gums when cleaning teeth, also fun.
  • Constipation. Enough said.
  • Weird aches and pains, sharp stabbing pains, sciatic pains that make you yelp out loud.
  • My boobs are killing me!!
  • Not being able to lift anything and having to ask for help. Hate hate hate!!
  • Looking far further in the pregnancy than I actually am.
  • Developing the pregnancy waddle way too early.
  • No wine (waaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!)
  • the 12 week scan with a full bladder and they are running very late and your bladder is in agony, and they ask you to wee a little bit out if it's causing that much of an issue.
  • the stretch marks, already so visible
  • not being able to walk further than lounge to the kitchen because your ligaments have loosened too much (I'm looking at you SPD!!!)
  • everyone is irritating me
  • not looking forward to the birth

You know, there's probably more. But I think I've moaned enough now. THANK YOU for that rant. I feel so much better.

Good luck ladies Flowers - I know we are all grateful (deep deep down) for the miracle that it is to carry a child, but it sure is good to have a moan Grin

The other thing that's pissing me off is people pressurising me to drink. I've had one prosecco and one white wine spritzer and I'm happy with that. But I'm getting really fed up with people saying they drank like fish and their kids are fine, as if I'm some uptight weirdo.

I'm so glad someone has started this thread! Lots have been said before but it's nice to vent so here's my list:

  • Being sick every. single. day.
  • People telling me the sickness will go at 12/14/however many weeks like they're medical experts... And it still being here!
  • Really sore boobs/nipples
  • The sinking feeling that I'm going to completely fail at childbirth if I can't even cope with sore nipples!
  • Being unable to sleep unless propped up/squished between about 20 pillows
  • Squeezing a little jug in my handbag for appointments because I am also rubbish at weeing in the little pots!
  • MIL harassing me almost every day to find out the gender so she can shop like a crazy lady
  • Sore back/hips/bum and the inevitable waddle that comes from the pain when you walk
  • People touching my belly... Shudder...
  • People who already have children who just laugh at your measly pregnancy aches and pains and go "ooh just wait til baby's here, you'll be wishing you only had backache!"
  • Actually, just people, really.
  • Trying to put a brave face on for all of these things because I'm so happy to be having a baby and I don't want everyone to think I'm ungrateful / a massive drama Queen!

Ahhh... Feels better to say it all out loud! Grin

These moans are making me feel more normal! :-) Those ppl saying you have to pee in a tiny recepticle, that would really do my nut too! My midwife gives me a sample bottle to take home for next time, I then wee in a massive measuring jug, then pour into said recepticle. I can't believe they expect you to be able to precision piss into those tiny little bottles every time. Scandalous!

I have graduated from pregnancy in the last two weeks. I have a two year old and a two week old and I had a section. It's a delight compared to pregnancy! I think pregnancy sucks to make you grateful for the baby at the end ;-) good luck girls, if you are anything like me you won't miss being pregnant one tiny shitting bit.

Jo4040 · 23/09/2015 08:17

I had ptylaism. It's excessive saliva. I was spitting about 4L a day. Heart rate was up from dehydration. It tasted like sour milk.

When I swallowed any of it from eating drinking it lied on my stomach and I had to make my self sick morning and evening to bring up the phlem of my stomach.

The taste was hurredous. When one sence is down, all the other four sences suffer as well. I couldn't drive because I couldn't hear or see properly because I was concentrating on how to control the taste in my mouth and dealing with spitting in a fruit shoot bottle that needed emptying every ten mins.

I never want to see a fruit shoot bottle ever again. I lived with one hand for seven and a half months and I think pound land run out of mints at one stage.

I had it in both my pregnancys. Both turned out to be boys.

It literally dried up as I was giving birth. The taste went when my waters broke.

I resembled them aliens from the Simpsons with all the saliva dripping from my mouth if I didn't spit it out. There is Noway I could have swallowed it. It was bad enough the amounts I swallowed when I was eating and drinking.

I think about it every day now and I'm so glad I can think straight again. I feel for anybody going through ptylaism.

plonkie · 23/09/2015 11:57

Bloody hell jo that sounds horrific! I've had shit mouth throughout my pregnancy but nothing that bad!

Jo4040 · 23/09/2015 13:13

It was awful. My job was very hard also, I have to be professional. How the fuck can you be professional when your stood there salavating into a bleeding bright orange fruit shoot bottle!

I hav'nt really mentioned it since having my DS, but if anyone is suffering with this then I'm happy to advice on my coping strategies I developed. Nothing stopped it...but some things, i.e...chewing in a carrot gave me minutes of relief

Lemonfizzypop · 23/09/2015 14:02

People thinking they can comment on your body, someone just commented on how I've put on weight but "oh well it's good for the baby", jfc I'm 36 weeks and hormonal and I do not need to hear that! They did it in such a nice smiley way aswell!

Lemonfizzypop · 23/09/2015 14:04

Oh and yeah I'm not ashamed to say I am really looking forward to sharing a bottle of wine with my husband!
And rare steak is gonna be one of my first meals post baby I think!

duckbilled · 25/09/2015 07:12

After moaning my beautiful dd2 was born yesterday morning! Hang in there, it is so worth all the annoyances for this part Smile

plonkie · 25/09/2015 10:31

Congratulations duckbilled, that's fantastic! I am so jealous though, I have to say! ;-)
