I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and I've been feeling very uncomfortable in my own skin. Everything from how my clothes feel against me to not being able you find a comfortable way to sit or lay. As anyone else ever felt like this and if so is there anything I can do to make this uncomfortable feeling go away?

So basically you feel hypersensitive, like one does when you have a fever? It's not something I can remember I'm afraid. Having a shower and putting on clean nightclothes, preferably plain cotton with no itchy lacey bits and labels, is always nice when feeling feverish, and later on when the bump is physically getting in the way a pillow between the knees helped.

You are slightly in the wrong bit of the site btw, but it doesn't matter much at this time of night. Nevertheless reporting your own post and asking it to be moved to either 'Pregnancy' or 'Chat' (where there'll be more traffic), would probably be a good idea.

It's a hard feeling to explain. It's like no whatever how many times I change or try to resituate my clothes or change how I'm sitting or laying, I still feel uncomfortable. This is my first pregnancy so this is all new to me. And thank you I wasn't quite sure where to post this at.

Smile no worries magstew!

Basically, being pregnant is weird. There are all sorts of odd symptoms that only some of us get. Mine was hypermicturation right from the beginning - within days of realising that my period should have started last week and hadn't... which is medical speak for wanting to go to the loo ALL THE f*ing TIME!!! Rather like cystitis, but without the stinginess.

That went on for the entire first half of the pregnancy, then vanished for two whole weeks, until it reappeared but this time in the form of having to go to the loo because there really wasn't room any more for more than a teaspoon of wee. I was expecting twins, so it was super packed down there, but even so - I became a massive expert in the location of every public loo in a twenty mile radius!

Hope it gets better for you! I started feeling uncomfortable about 20 weeks and it's only become worse unfortunately. Even a small baby bump can make you feel odd. Turning over in bed is a nightmare. x

magstew I've had this in all of my pregnancies. you need to make sure you have light, floaty clothes - no jeans or anything with a waistband - I'm living in maxi dresses and leggings. I have a set of 'house clothes' which is a really huge shirt and soft joggers which I wear once I'm in the house (without any underwear/bra).

in terms of sitting/lying - I'm afraid you just have to move around a lot! I have a hard backed chair, the sofa and a birthing ball and I move around between the three. in my first pregnancy when I was working I had a birthing ball at work and swapped it in and out with my desk chair.

but as others have said - pregnancy just makes you feel weird! after a while you get sort of used to it!
