Where would you recommend - don't want to pay astronomical prices - have looked on mothercares website but some of the prices are a bit much.
Also how much would you recommend buying? Ie how many sheets etc
Are bumpers allowed now are still a no no? (They were said to be dangerous when my eldest was a baby)
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH CHOICE (crys tears of despair)

You can get a breathable cot bumper called airwrap, it's still a grey area. Some say no and others yes... I picked up a lovely bedset in Homesense the other week for thirty pounds. I'd suggest keeping an eye out for sales.

Asda do well priced cot bedding. I think how much you get depends on the baby. I only had 3 sets, but DS was not very sick-y.

I have a bear best friends crib bedding set for sale. Brand new in packaging. Cost £30 or £35 can't remember selling for £15 plus p&p if you are interested? Can pm pics if you like, it's neutral colours.

We gou ours cheap from B&M and have lasted. Cot bumpers are still not recommended and our baby is 1 and we haven't needed an air wrap or anything.

Try online4baby.com. I just got some muslins and a feeding pillow ! Very reasonable and fast delivery.

We got some sheets from dunelm mill and a couple of plain blue ones from tesco. We are using sleep bags most of the time but have brought some blankets in aldi baby events. We found that cheaper than buying a whole set from one place

soloula · 20/09/2015 14:40

Aldi have some nice fleece and cellular blankets in their baby and toddler event just now. :)

Junosmum · 20/09/2015 15:18

I've just bought some fitted sheets off ebay, 7 for £4 plus postage, better than I've found anywhere else. But I don't mind second hand.

I also got a set with my crib, including a bumper, and have thrown the bumper away. I'll only be using sheets and baby sleeping bags.

Lunastarfish · 20/09/2015 17:08

You don't need a bumper. My 9 week old has never got caught or bumped in the rails even though she wriggles around.

I bought 2 sheets from John Lewis (I had a gift voucher) I think they were £12. You can buy cheaper but they are think and soft and wash very well

When my dd was first born we used blankets now she is in a sleeping bag although we Co sleep for at least part of the night

Lunastarfish · 20/09/2015 17:09

Should add that My dd isnt especially sickly. If you end up with a sickly baby you may need more sheets

Evianbaby15 · 21/09/2015 13:34

Thanks everyone - we still have lots of blankets from ds so I guess I just need sheets rather than a whole set
