Movement at 15 weeks?

Is it possible to feel anything that early? This is my first time so wasn't expecting to feel anything for weeks yet but today have kept getting a 'flippy' feeling really low down...don't know what else it could be? I realise it doesn't really matter - just excited and want to make sure I'm not being totally mad!

It is possible some women do feel it that early I didn't feel movement until 17/18 weeks.

I felt it at 14 or 15 weeks second time round so yes, it's possible.

Metalhead · 15/09/2015 16:12

Yep, I felt my first around 14/15 weeks.

Junosmum · 15/09/2015 22:17

I felt it at 14 weeks. So it could be. Not often, maybe 3 times that week.

mrslebon · 15/09/2015 22:53

I was about to post the same question! This is my second time and I can definitely feel flutterings, not proper baby seal type flips yet, but flutterings now and again. Having been through it first time, I know how it feels this time, but didn't expect it as early as 15 weeks. Last time, I didn't feel anything until about 21 weeks as the placenta was in the way.

I felt my first and second at fifteen weeks.

Thanks all - I've not felt anything since so waiting for it to happen again. Exciting if it is what I think it is! Every time we have had a scan he or she has been going bonkers on screen - bouncing and flipping about. It's been a tricky few months - hence all the scans - so good to have the reassurance.

I found it quite difficult / stressful feeling movement that early as I would go for days without feeling anything after a little flutter. It only became regular at about 18 weeks I think.

mrslebon · 16/09/2015 12:01

I don't know if it's the same for others but I tend to feel movement when I am literally sitting down doing nothing. So at 10.30 last night, I was just on my laptop and could feel flutterings. But nothing at all during the day, which I think is probably fine at this early stage.

Aw how exciting op! Yes it sounds like it very well could be your baby. I felt my son at 15 weeks and he's my first. It was really low down and was like a muscle spasm or a tickling. V infrequent at first which is normal :-)

Hairballs · 16/09/2015 12:30

That's exactly how my movements started, mrslebon. Only since 20 weeks have i been able to feel movements whilst not lying down and concentrating.

kjwpn · 16/09/2015 13:50

Hi yes I felt movements at about that time with my first and second. As a PP said, the only disadvantage is that you its so small and sporadic that you can get anxious waiting to feel something again! Glad you're getting some reassurance now at least.

docmcstuffins1 · 16/09/2015 19:33

I'm jealous! I'm 16 weeks and can't wait to a) feel movements and b) have a proper bump! How exciting!

WombOfOnesOwn · 16/09/2015 21:51

Yup. I'm pregnant with my first and started feeling him about 2 weeks ago, during week 15. It was very distinct! It's gotten a lot clearer in the two weeks since, though sometimes I'll go a day or two without feeling anything, then have a time where it seems like he's going crazy in there for several minutes at a time!

Braylie15 · 17/09/2015 03:05

I was 15 weeks and 3 days when i first felt my baby girl move. They say most first time moms wont feel anything til closer to 30 weeks but i think it has alot to do with how attuned the mom to be is to her body and her baby

Braylie15 · 17/09/2015 03:05

My bad!! Til closer to 20 weeks. Most first time moms between 16 and 18 weeks. So no not uncommon persay for you to feel your little one. :) good luck with your pregnancy
