Worries regarding alcohol in pregnancy

This is dc3. When pg with dc2 advice was that there was no problem with low consumption of alcohol. I still didn't drink much in that pregnancy maybe on half a dozen occasions 1 or 2 drinks max.

When I found out I was pregnant this time I was on holiday I continued to have a very small glass of cider 2% alcohol most nights for the following week. Thinking that the alcohol content was so low and it was a small amount. Then since then I've probably had 4/5 occasions where I've drunk a glass (sometimes a large glass) of red wine with s meal.

My attention has now been drawn to guidelines that state no alcohol should be consumed in pregnancy. Do I am beside myself with worry.

I'm struggling to gain perspective on this. Can I get your opinions.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome - which I assume the midwife is hunting at, really is more to do with sustained heavy drinking throughout the pregnancy.

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't have had the large glasses of wine regularly. But I have had a few sips of lager, a sip of wine, a glass of Bucks Fizz with dinner for DPs birthday and I am nearly halfway through the pregnancy now.

I would just stop for your sanities sake I think. I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine but no health professional can give that assurance and will always advise you stick to the guidelines with everything you consume (I had dippy eggs for lunch today and feel like a criminal lol).

Yes will definitely stop for my sanity's sake as you say! I don't even drink really when I'm not pregnant and have stuck to the nhs food guidelines so strictly that u feel such an idiot/so guilty that this has slipped through the net. No more for me now!
