Slight bleed at 26 weeks - should I be worried?

Hi, I am 26 weeks gone with my second child (I have a healthy 2yr old daughter). Two weeks ago and again yesterday I lost a few spots of blood. I have been checked out by my midwife and the baby is fine - but no one can give me any reason for this blood loss. I did have a missed miscarriage earlier in the year (at 11wks) and the only sign anything was wrong was a small loss of blood - so this has obviously got me worried. I just wondered if anyone has had anything similiar happen to them and could give me any reason for it.
Thanks

I haven't had any bleeds in later preg, but i think it would be worth asking for a scan. That might be able to show where it is coming from and would make you feel less in the dark. Could it be cervical errosion? Is the baby moving around ok?
Sorry, not much help, but i'm sure someone will be along soon, good luck

Baby is moving loads - and much more forcefully than my first. Thanks for your advice - I am probably being paranoid but after one miscarriage it makes you worry about every little thing.

With my previous 2 pregnancies I have bled at 21wks both times and it I have been told it is cervical erosion. It lasted about a week and tended to happen when I had been walking anywhere and then it just stopped and didn't appear again.

Michie, I've had loads of ist trimester miscarriages, it hasn't had any effect on my successful pregnancies.

In your position I would ask for a ferning test. My waters broke (not with a gush, just a slow leak), at 30 weeks. The only intimation was a very slight pinky trace on one occasion in what I though was still normal discharge. The baby's movements seemed more forceful because there was less fluid around to cushion them; also he was distressed, but I didn't twig at the time. I almost did not go in to be checked - thank goodness I did, and that they thought to check for ruptured membranes. So just to be sure ....

Hello - I'm nearly 25 weeks and had the same thing last night. I had a brief scan and everything appears to be fine with the baby and placenta. I'm still crossing my fingers, of course, but having the scan helped a lot to reassure me, especially re. the placenta.

When it happened, I rang my doctor and he suggested I go into the hospital for a scan. I told the nurse there that I wasn't sure whether I should have gone in, but she kept telling me 'You did right, you did right.'
