I had my whooping cough injection on Tuesday, I havnt been ill but my arm is still hurting and I have a huge lump. Did this happen to anyone else?

This is my second child, I am due in November and I am 40 in February. I was reading the other day somewhere if you are an older mother they offer you a sweep earlier due to your age. Is this true? Anyone had this done?

I know it's just my milk /boobs preparing themselves but what do you use to contain the itching and aching?

I am still feel ill in the mornings, I'm not blooming at all, when did your nausea a end? The midwifes don't seem bothered.

I've only put 10lb on but think it's down to the sickness feeling and I had to viral infections ad I would vomit when I coughed too much. I also have a bad gagging reflex. Now I have to go for growth scans as my baby is measuring two weeks behind. How much weight have you put on at this point.

All these questions have come to me after the midwife appointment and I didn't feel I could ask them as I felt like I had been lectured about my weight gain, well lack of it and was told now is not the time to be vain, if you seen how knackered/disheveled I look this isn't what you would say to me. I havnt washed my hair in a week, have only wore makeup for work and my urge to get dressed in anything matching has gone.

My husband thinks the midwife was having s bad day but she made me cry with the comments she made. After having three miscarriages the last thing I need is too be told I sm not doing my best for my little baby.

So there you go that is my questions and a mini rant.

Whooping cough - mine hurt for a week afterwards, small lump.
Boobs hurting, make sure you get fitted with a good maternity bra, I leaked at 30 weeks and had to get nipple pads.
I dont feel like I am blooming but other commented on how healthy I looking from about 32 weeks
Still weigh less than prepregnancy, at lowest I was 20lbs lighter. Nhs has page which say how much you should gain overall.
Nausea, 39 weeks and still sick so no advice, except it makes you look forward to labour doesn't it Wink
I had a bad day with mw the other week, luckily not usual one and back to normal now.
Good luck with rest or pregnancy, try to get some rest over weekend xx

Hi, I'm 36 weeks with 3rd baby.
Haven't had WC vaccine as my community midwife 'signed me off ' to the diabetes team who aren't focused on anything except diabetes stuff and I forgot to ask and now have missed the boat
Not sure about the sweep for over 40s, it will vary depending on your health authority. Managed to find a whole range of policies about induction ( and GD etc) for my loca health authority online, and it might be that yours has also got them published somewhere if you can spare the time to trawl the Internet.
Itchy boobs (and belly, and face, and everywhere)- I used an aloe gel which I kept in the fridge which seemed to help. It tends to come and go, the first trimester was worst for me and I scratched myself raw. Aso, I changed m washing powder to non bio and that seemed to help as well.
I had stinking morning sickness for the first 20 weeks, and still have touches of it now. I also still have the weird feeling but not the nausea if that makes sense. Just try to eat well, find something you can drink that doesn't make you heave (lime and soda for me with lots of ice) and make the most of the good days. As for the blooming, well, I look fantastic (like a post orgasmic 20 year old Swedish tennis player according to my husband), but I feel like a 90 year old emphysema patient with a tesco bag for a lung. Everyone expects me to be full of beans and I just want to curl up and cry. At least if you look tired, they'll leave you alone....
Weight gain....absolutely TONNES. Literally. Probably 4 stone. I've hidden the scales.
My advice....take some time every day for yourself. Even if you feel yuck, have a nice bath, do your hair, get a face pack or do your nails, and try and walk in the fresh air everyday. Every person is different when they're pregnant and it's hard not to compare, but you can do things to make yourself feel more human and show yourself some TLC. I'm more aware than ever this time just how demanding pregnancy is on your body and the daily burden it puts on you.

Whooping cough - yes, so sore and heavy!
Sweeps and age - not sure about age but I'm on my 5th baby, a terrible incubator (been overdue with all) supposed to having a home birth and they won't give me a sweep until 40 weeks!
Boobs - I've been wearing a sports bra. Probably not the advice to give but they were getting on my nerves so bad I relented. Couldnt give a shit if they end up by my knees right now.
Nausea - left for a few weeks, back with a vengeance come 30 weeks. 37 weeks today and still feeling wibbly. I get full very quickly.
Weight? - 2 stone. Been trying to be good. They're now telling me baby is on the large side.
As for the midwife upsetting you...take a deep breath and tell her to fuck off Flowers what an arsehole! Pregnancy is demanding on your body and exhausting. Give yourself a bit of a pamper every day or on one particular day of the week when you have time. Or better yet, buy yourself some beauty treatments and let someone else pamper you. You will feel the benefit.
