With suspected pre-e.

Routine midwife app this aft, checked my urine sample and contained ++++ protein, BP was only 136/86 but for me that's quite high. I've swollen hands and ankles since the weekend which were previously dismissed, and the headache I've had for 3 weeks has finally been taken seriously.

What will they do if it is pre-e? Will I be induced even earlier than expected? Will I need to stay in hospital?

Take your hospital bag just in case. How far on are you? My friend had pre-e and she went to hospital was monitored for 24hours before an emcs. She and baby are doing really well but she still has a splitting headache.

She was 36+5

Ah you poor thing, you're having a tough time...

They'll try to stabilise you, get your bp down... They'll monitor you and assess where to go from there. .if they can't get you on a more even keel then they may deliver.

Hello, I had pre-e. In my case it was a few days before due date, but even then the hospital midwife said they would give me some drugs and send me home to return each day to be checked.
As it happened we decided with a dr to go ahead with induction anyway, but just wanted to reassure you that they can manage it without it immediately meaning induction

I'm 34 weeks with twins so still quite early but due to be induced at 37 weeks.

They have said my BP is fine (the nurse taking the readings has actually laughed at me twice! Hmm) although it is high for me, it's not classed as high in general terms.

Just waiting on bloods back at the moment and then they said they will see what the plan is from there.

I was admitted to hospital pretty quickly once my midwife had discovered protein in my urine and a high bp reading.
Initially my blood pressure was checked a lot. If I remember rightly it was at something like 140/98 - much higher then my usual 110/60.
I then had to provide a 24 hour urine sample whereby they screened the results for urates(?).
I was kept in and monitored closely for about a week before they announced one evening that they would deliver me by c-section the following morning.
I was 34 weeks. Baby spent two weeks in scbu before we were allowed home.

BP is still around 140/90 but the nurse just keeps shaking her head and laughing and saying its fine (mine is also usually around 110/60).

They've monitored the babies for about an hour and they're looking fine which is good.

Blood results are back but no one had looked at them yet.
