Low lying placenta - anyone got any experience?

Hi,
Am 30 weeks pregnant with child 2 and had a low lying placenta highlighted at 20 week scan. Had no issues until a bleed last week, went in and monitored for 24 hours and it stopped and baby is fine and growing etc. the placenta is still low "touching internal os" but not covering. Is posterior. They don't seem hopeful it will move though. Have another scan booked for 32 weeks as had previous emcs so they're monitoring. Am grateful for the care and healthy baby but gutted about potentially having to have another c section. Anyone have similar experience and wisdom to share?

Hi melmam, yup I think there's loads of time for them to flip around too, mine goes from transverse, to head down, to arse up a lot! It's ok until I eat too much and then gets uncomfortable if they move!
Hope all's goig well for you and its plain sailing. X

I completely agree with eating too much then very uncomfortable lol theres so much people dont say about pregnancy ive been asking my mam all kinds of questions and she just comes back with i wouldnt worry about that its completely normal.

Mine moved and had a normal birth. I had scan at 36 and 38 weeks and it kept moving. It's not over til it's over!!

I had a low lying placenta in my first pregnancy. I bled on and off throughout and spent the entire time back and forth from the hospital. By 36weeks it still hasn't moved away from os enough so I had to see a consultant. She decided to risk a vaginal birth (her words exactly, not quite what you wanted to here for pfb!). Dd was born two weeks later naturally with no complications. I did however birth loose a massive (size of a dinner plate!!) blood clot in the shower afterwards which was alarming as no one had warned me about that!

Update;
Had a scan yesterday, also an internal one which showed placenta partially covering os. Baby is breech also (appears to have moved into my lungs, didn't need to breathe anyway!) clearly trying to tell me something!
This with another tiny bleed (but dark old blood) and they almost kept me in. Am under instructions to call and get in if any further bleeding.
So am hoping ASBO baby just stays out long enough to cook fully and am now fully prepared for planned section, which sounds far more civilised than the emcs I had with ds1. My main worry is the disruption anything else will cause to him and my lovely husband, oddly!
