my last pregnancy 3 years ago was sheer hell I was sick at least 8 times a day for 42 weeks! I was in hospital 9 times for a few days each time off sick for almost all of it.

I'm pregnant again, it wasn't planned but isn't unwelcome. I just don't know what to do to get a better handle on HG this time around.

Any tips, advice or positive stories please?!

When you find out please let me know. Also an ex hg sufferer. 3 years on...I decided to try again. Currently 6 weeks pregnant, (mc 6 weeks earlier)....this pregnancy already feels a lot like my successful hg pregnancy....sickness began at the weekend and I'm already on Meds to try catch it early. Someone on another thread recommended taking vitamin b6 from now so will look into that.

Thanks reebok, I'm somewhere between 6 and 13 weeks (I have a bizzare body that refuses to show BFP on tests so had to get blood test at GP). I feel ok so far which has me worried and relieved in equal measures!

There might be some truth in the b6 thing, the only thing that made me slightly better last time was vitamin water and I'm sure it was the b6 one! Surely a pregnancy supplement would contain b6 though? I'll be investigating that one.

I've been eating something every 90 minutes to see if that helps as last Romeo think not eating enough was the cause but then I got into a spiral of being too sick to eat :(

I'm 33 weeks into my second HG pregnancy here and whilst the sickness has been equally horrendous in both pregnancies I've found it a lot easier to manage this time around. It wasn't all new to me. I knew what tips and tricks worked for me personally last time and what things I needed to avoid like the plague, so I had a sort of head start on coping strategies if that makes sense? I have still managed to end up in hospital a fair amount of times but I do feel slightly more in control than last time.

Thanks Sarkymare, it's good to know that if I can't keep it at bay it might be easier to cope this time! I've no idea how I'm meant to work and look after a 3 year old too thigh! Luckily my DH is fantastic do I guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it :/
