A slice of chicken about half the size of the palm of my hand
One roast potato
One scone
Two oatcakes

Anyone would think I was anorexic

Oh I remember those days with fondness..NOT..! Not been sick with this little one BUT was sick constantly with dd..from 4 weeks till way beyone 25 weeks. My sympathy and {{{{hugs}}}}

Miaou · 26/11/2006 19:26

Thanks shhh! Morning sickness makes me so miserable. And the only thing that seems to help a little bit is lying down, which is not really practical with ds charging around! (and it is v. boring too).

I am never doing this again.

progress I can well remember feeling thrilled that I could manage a tomato cup a soup (normally would not touch with bargepole) and a peeled pear.
I too was sick with dd til 27 weeks - hyperemesis.
This time as with ds, had one or two dodgy weeks @ 8-10 wks
Since then been great.
Funnily enough I put on more weight with dd even given hyperemesis than I have this time (none to date) and I'm 24 weeks.
pregnancies are WEIRD

Miaou · 26/11/2006 19:38

Definitely are, Piff! I was expecting m/s to be worse this time than previously (following the pattern of previous pregnancies), but I wasn't prepared for it to be this bad. I guess I have lost quite a bit of weight but I'm only 6 weeks in so plenty of time yet.

How are you anyway after your appendectomy? I was thinking about you earlier today, funnily enough!

Hi Miaou

It's awful isn't it. I'm 20+1 and not been sick for about 10 days now!!!! I lost about a stone and a half in 1st trimester and spent about 3months housebound, apart from trips to hospital or docs! It's BAD, BAD, BAD!

Am only just beginning to eat normal food again. It's so nice to not just be munching toast or weetabix all day! I found I ended up deciding what to eat be what would taste least bad to throw back up!

Thinking of you
xx

dorisofdevon · 26/11/2006 21:49

Oh miaou am with you all the way had hyperemesis last time and every morning waking with that awful feeling

Yesterday forced myself to go xmas shopping and nearly threw up outside dingles (posh house of frazer shop) DH looked half and half concerned and slightly embarassed

Biazarely a couple of nuts (brazils/ cashews etc ) seems to do the trick if i get them in in time before my blood sugar drops ( after and they taste like cemment mix ....thinking about it that goes for most food if the times not right

Anyway total sympathies and big hugs we're all in this together (dh has said no maore HE can't cope with the pregnancies!!)

Poor you

Have you tried the soda water? Ginger ale apparently good too but I never tried it.

I've just thrown up lunch (baked crisps, raspberry sorbet, Coca Cola Blak) this second - it's 4pm here - and I give birth on Friday. Well done to the baby for taking this whole morning sickness thing so seriously, it has taken it right up to the wire, like people said it would. And great work, placenta! You really kept everything nasty far away from the baby.

Only four more days of throwing up! And then the baby's begins...

hunkermunker · 27/11/2006 00:10

Oh bugger. I hoped this wasn't your thread

Not that I wished morning sickness on anyone else...

But ykwim.

Hugs, my feline friend - speak soon x x x x x x

Piffle · 27/11/2006 13:09

Hope you also are keeping food down today Miaou, with dd I could kep some food down so long as I ate it lying down and stayed lying down - the minute I moved. Bam.
Thanks for asking I'm much better now, nearly 3 weeks post op, can drive a bit, do the housework and look after dd ok, so guess I'm on the mend!
xx

Hi - you poor thing! I know exactly how you feel. I am 13 weeks and am as sick as a dog, even toast is hard to keep down some days. I was feeling quite smug as well as I wasn't sick at all with ds1. That'll teach me!

Roll on the birth .

Miaou · 28/11/2006 11:13

Had such a bad day yesterday - I managed most of a fish cake and a bit of pasta at tea time, and a small bowl of cornflakes at about 10pm - that was it. I went to work yesterday but then rang up when I got home and said I can't go in again (it is casual work) because I'm just not well enough. It is so frustrating! However this morning I have actually managed to eat (and keep down) some breakfast. Dh started talking about the soup he would make for my lunch and I had to stop him, though!

Thanks for the sympathy folks - I am hoping it won't be this bad for too long but I'm just going from day to day atm and not trying to look ahead to when it might stop (or not)!
