Sorry, June was he born? Mine only ever had wool outside in winter. They shouldn't wear hats inside much anyway - first day or so.

My boy was 10lbs and wore newborn for a week. Get a mix unless you know you are having a whopper!

I had growth scans and my baby was estimated to be over 7lb at 40 weeks and she was 8 days late so I was going to take 0-3 but then I decided to just take newborn and hubby could bring more if needed. She came out at 6lb 12oz and newborn swamped her. It's not just weight it's size and length too. Freya is now 13 weeks tomorrow and still in 0-3 and isn't tiny now.

If you're worried go for Primark 0-3 as I found they come up small or boots, next or mothercare newborn/up to one month/new baby as they all come up big in my experience

3 was nowhere near enough as a first timer there will be nappy incidents or vomiting from what they swallow. Many changes were required.

Have barely used cotton hats! Far too warm!

We only bought one pack of vests. Got so many clothes as gifts I'm actually glad we didn't go crazy before hand. Our baby was in newborn sized clothes for a while but we assumed she was going to be small as we are both quite small and the bump and scans were small.

iAmNicolaMurray · 27/08/2015 15:26

Sorry and one pack of babygrows

Have a look at the weights on the labels - they vary massively from shop to shop.

If you are expecting a 6lb baby I'd get a cheap supermarket set in tiny which is usually up to 7.5lbs (but depends on the shop)

I brought 0-3 to hospital but it was up to 14lb and totally swamped my 6lb DS. Growth scan said he'd be getting on for 10lbs but he was premature, so a lot depends on when they appear - even with term there's a 5 week variation so you can't get an exact weight from the scan.

Facebook selling sites are good for cheap bundles

I reckon if baby's over 81/2lbs would be ok in 0-3 months

I reckon if OPs baby weighs in at 81 lb she will have a lot more to worry about than the size of the baby clothes Grin
