Should swollen feet be painful?

Just that really. I didn't get swollen feet last pregnancy, I don't know if it's the heat this time, but my poor swollen feet are so painful. It actually feels like I've injured them, but I know I haven't. I don't have any worries about pre-eclampsia as I don't fit the symptoms, but I'm in so much pain. They go down if I put my feet up, which isn't easy with a toddler, but I'm trying.

Any advice? DH has flatly refused to give me a a foot massage as feet freak him out. My local beauty place doesn't seem to do a leg and foot massage, but might look for one slightly further afield. If I can get there on my sore feet!

I freeze a hot water bottle and then put my feet up on that, it's lovely!

Might be oedema. It's basically excess fluid, hurts the longer you're on your feet, keep elevated as much as possible and rub arnica lotion in

I thought I had sprained my anklr and damaged the tendons in my foot as it was painful to walk on, post birth the swelling went and so did the pain thankfully. I kept them elevated when possible and applied hot and cold to them.

flight socks kept my legs from swelling too much and also helped with the cramps.
that and elevation and hydration.
