since I new I'm pregnant there was that light spotting, last Monday i had a light bleeding, by Tuesday and Wednesday it was very heavy, so I had a curettage on Thursday, by that time the doctor didn't mention the anti d injection though my blood is A negative, so I called him by Friday morning and he said that I can take it by Saturday since I was only 4 to 5 weeks pregnant, I already took it, but still I feel that I might be late since the heavy bleeding started Tuesday

Sorry I don't understand what you are asking?

My question is, is it too late to take the injection after 40 hours from the operation, especially that I had heavy bleeding before, I'm afraid that the Dr should have gave it to me when I started bleeding

Well guidelines say that anti d isn't required prior to 12 weeks gestation as the risk of fetal-maternal heamorhage is so low.

Generally when anti d is required it should be given within 72 hours of the event, (bleed, proceedure, delivery).

Thanks for your answer, so I shouldn't worry right?

Ok so the risk is that your baby is positive and your blood mingles. I agree with a PP, at this stage of pregnancy the blood shouldn't cross over. And also you have 72 hours to have it. So either way you should be fine.

But if it were me, I would check with the dr or mw to be sure - if they want you to have it, I can't see that it can do any harm!

No, you don't need to worry.
