In the words of Grampy Rabbit: is anyone else thinking about cheese?

I actually can't get enough of cheese. I think about it several times a day. I love cheese.

I'm 16 weeks pregnant which may have something to do with it.

I wondered if it means I'm not getting enough calcium.

What is everybody else obsessing over?

Doublebubblebubble · 11/08/2015 20:13

Couldn't stand cheese at the beginning of this pregnancy (stoopid hg) but now I'm all about the cheese. Any kind. Best is cottage cheese at the moment x

Bah Bah Bah - Bah Babybel! Grin

I've just had the most amazing baked potato with Arran cheese & beans. I love all the cheeses but I already did pre-pregnancy so not sure I can use it as an excuse

MattyJenkyns · 11/08/2015 20:59

What's Arran cheese river? I've just bought some breaded mozarella sticks with dip from marksies (and their lemon meringue tarts).

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/08/2015 21:01

Don't get me started about jam tarts...

MattyJenkyns · 11/08/2015 21:03

Jam tarts, lemon meringue tarts, blackcurrant sundae tarts. . .

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/08/2015 21:10

Dribbling.

Lemon curd tarts

FGS. I need to go in search of food now!!

Nousername2015 · 11/08/2015 21:18

Anybody missing the cheese they can't have? I almost cried the first time I went for lunch after finding out I was pregnant and seeing a cheeseboard with some gorgeous looking brie and blue cheese on it.

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 11/08/2015 21:25

Cheese made on an island off the west coast of Scotland called Arran. They make amazing cheese Matty

CoffeeAndOranges · 11/08/2015 21:30

Had a massive urge for cheap orange cheese melted on toast last week - it was divine, both with Marmite underneath and with Worcester sauce on top. Mmm.

I think I must eat cheese most days, and thanks to raging heartburn I have been drinking lots of milk - maybe heartburn is nature's way of the body getting enough calcium in pregnancy as milk calms it (temporarily). Now I'm on prescription Gaviscon (bleurgh) but still enjoy a small glass of milk on an evening.

This could explain my 2 stone weight gain at 25 weeks Sad

Junosmum · 11/08/2015 21:30

Just had baked camembert and crusty bread, 2 dairylea triangles and chocolate milkshake for my tea. If I'm craving calcium why don't I want kale and spinach ha!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/08/2015 21:30

nouser "fortunately" I can't stand blue cheese anyway, but I am missing brie. It's more the texture and bitterness that I want, rather than the taste.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/08/2015 21:32

Juno I'm pretty convinced that you need fat in your diet to grow a baby. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

drinkscabinet · 11/08/2015 21:33

I loved all dairy all through each pregnancy. I could eat an entire big pot of Yeo Valley yoghurt at a single sitting and my favourite evening snack was popcorn and cheese. Yum.

MattyJenkyns · 11/08/2015 21:35

The same place the jumpers are from river? I have learned something new Smile

MattyJenkyns · 11/08/2015 21:36

I can't believe I've gone this far through pregnancy thinking (resentfully) that I can't have baked camembert when clearly I can!!!

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 12/08/2015 22:23

Yes it's the same island as the itchy jumpers Matty! The cheese is much nicer though - I stocked up recently on a couple of days away over there but didn't buy nearly enough to keep me going til my due date.
