Short Cervix 19mm 20+4

Anyone else been suffering with a short cervix? I'm off work and have been told to rest. I am taking cyclogest and will be rescanned next week to see if there is any improvement. The dr has said I should be ok but I am worried...if no improvement then it's a stitch, squeezing my legs together and hoping for the best! Anyone else going through similar?

Mine wasn't as short but was 35mm at 23 weeks, then dropped to 24mm a week later. I had cyclogest pessaries, 400mg three times a day and rested a lot. The cyclogest and rest finally improved and it didn't shorten further. I was then signed off at 32 weeks for the remainder of my pregnancy, stayed on cyclogest until 36 weeks and gave birth at 40+5!! Rest Rest Rest! Hope all goes well x

Forgot to mention that the other reason I was put on rest and pessaries was because my cervix was also soft.

How did they come to diagnose your short cervix? Interested as it's been a worry of mine but consultant said all ok without taking a look, just looked at a post-loop photo taken 6 years ago. Hope all goes well for you x

HI, Thanks for your responses! I am supposed to have injections as of next week which I'm scared about as I'm needle phobic, but i guess you do anything to keep the baby in! Im resting but to be honest I feel more achey and heavy not moving much. My baby felt very low down and when i went for the morphology scan a few days ago i told the dr and he did an internal scan to measure the cervix. xx

I drove occasionally and went to work for a bit, but when home made sure I properly rested as much as possible. I had steroid injections at 24 weeks, not a fan of needles but you kind of just get on with it when you know its all to help the baby. By the end of the pregnancy you'll be a lot less phobic :D

The crazy thing is this an ivf baby, I injected myself for ages but as this is a intramuscular jab I'm stupidly scared! Thanks for responding!x
