Hi all,

My friend told me yesterday she's 7 weeks pregnant. Am thrilled for her as she's suffered three early miscarriages in the last few months. I really want to make her up a little basket of things to help ease nausea and things to pamper her with and cheer her up when she's feeling sicky and miserable.

So far I've ordered some extra strong mints, and some ginger chews for her to try and ease the nausea a little. Was going to buy some nice biscuits too as she's finding eating little and often helps. Also some bio oil to start running in early! Have you lovely people got other ideas of some things I could put in that you would have appreciated or found useful?

Any suggestions would be very gratefully received, many thanks!!

A nice big mug! I loved getting snuggled up with a sweet cup of tea when I was feeling rough.

I think that's a really lovely idea... And agree with all the oil / dvd / chocolate / pj suggestions above. Lucky lady to have a friend like you Smile x

I think it's a lovely idea and not too early as long as all the gifts are for her to feel better (I'd only disagree if any gifts were baby related). Id love it if someone did that for me! I agree with decaf tea/coffee, a little chocolate, dried fruit, maybe some juice or lovely non-alcoholic drinks(I've been loving cold fresh orange juice or elderflower fizz). The lavender spray sounds lovely but just check the bottle....one that I was looking at in boots was apparently not suitable for pregnant women. It would be lovely to help with sleep. Or even just some flowers.

Really kind idea, I was majorly bloated in the very early weeks and found peppermint tea really helpful. A lovely lip balm would have gone down well and a decent book to help with the change (whitewash!) to my social life. Would prob not go for anything strongly scented with toiletry type things as might not help her nausea. A friendship bracelet or something similar might be nice as I felt a bit vulnerable/lonely at times in the early weeks. Love all other suggestions from others too- sure it'll be a lovely gift! X

By 11/12 weeks her nausea may have gone but I'd pop some lime and ginger tea in as it's lovely even when you're not sick. Also agree re. a manicure and maybe a good book to take to bed early.
