Newborn outfit - where did you get yours

I am looking for a 'coming home' outfit for a newborn baby boy.

I want to buy him one nice outfit for the photos (after that he'll be in his big sisters pink baby grows :-) ) but I can't find anything that appeals. I want something a bit different but not too 'boysy' ie no cars/tractors.

I was looking at Toby Tiger, which is cute, but an over the head outfit is simply not practical for a baby (is my opinion).

Did any of you find some cool newborn baby boys outfits?

Next have some really cute pop art themed stuff, bit super hero like with whizz, pop etc on thar is unisex and cheerful. They also do rainbow stuff quite often. Or h&m often have sweet stuff

Mine wire Toby tiger stuff but not til bigger sitting up age as I agree with you over the head stuff is a pita fir a newborn.

I also put mins in some baby grows I tie dyed.

Boys should not wear pink. Because they might be mistaken for a girl. It is beneath their dignity to be wrongly identified as the inferior gender. It implies they are weak, girly, sissy, gay.

Girls can wear blue, because they might be mistaken for a boy. A girl in blue is to be commended on her ambition to become more than her gender dictates, to ally herself with the more masculine style is to better herself, show character and strength.

Not all about the colour, correct, just a general tomboys vs sissies problem hurting all genders.

Mine wore a blue babygro from charity shop. Gender of child not relevant to colour.

Boden sale good though, or pumpkin patch..

I generally bought gender neutral newborn clothes and then there wasn't a question of who could wear what. But I bought and was given some v cute bonds clothes for my ds, both onesies and separates. Hth.

Lol at the people debating about colour. The baby won't even know fgs.
I'm also looking for a nice coming home outfit, will deffo have a look at next and the white company, it'll be nice for all the photos that people will be taking so may as well make it special ay!

I can't stand the fact people freak out over pink for a boy. I bought plain babygros but used blue hand-me-downs for my dd. nothing wrong with blue for a girl or pink for a girl. If you were to grow his hair long, plait it and put him in a dress later on...now that would be odd. Do what you're comfortable with and what you can budget wise.

To answer the actual question - JoJo is fantastic for new baby outfits and if it's a treat outfit, well worth the price. Smile

ladymalfoy Our DD was in NNU for 7 weeks and came home in clothes donated to the hospital! So although I fully understand your sentiment of wanting to FO out of there, this time round I want to do it 'proper' iYKWIM. :-)

I will have a look at all your suggestions. Thank you! (And I wish we had anyone in our family dexterous enough for smth handmade!)

And if he catches The Gay then we'll know what caused it. ;-)

To reassure the anti-pink posters, I was planning on going through her baby grows and sleep suits (the ones without patterns) and die them a funky colour. I was thinking purple, orange and green though, not sure if that's 'worse' than blue? ;-) DD also has a pair of black and grey leopard print leggings, I think he's totally going to rock those in a metrosexual hip baby kind a way. ;-)
