Pop concert at 35 weeks - am I bonkers?

Before I became pregnant I bought tickets to see George Michael at Earl's Court. But by then I will be nearly 35 weeks' pregnant. Would I be completely bonkers to go? Could I bring on premature labour? I have generally been feeling pretty well, apart from a tummy bug just this weekend which has left me feeling pretty tired. The other ticket is for my best friend and I need to let her know this week if I'm not going, so she can find someone else. (I'm 33 weeks now). Any views? Thanks.

Good idea re red cross from marathonmum - I went to a concert at 8 1/2 months pregnant - and there was no way any of the teeny boppers were going to let me ahead in the loooong toilet queue - in fact I think they were rather offended a pregnant person old enough to be their mother had the cheek to be there - but I'm glad I went.

I saw cirque du soleil at 34 weeks. It was great. Go it may be your last concert for a long time.

go!

saw billy joel at 35 weeks ... me and bump were the only ones who jigged the whole way through

and when i play his tunes now and sing my ds totally loves it!

enjoy (and enjoy the look of fear on the faces of the people around you -- well the blokes anyway)

My DP bourght us tickets to see Jools Holland for November 10th before we knew I was pg. I would have been 39 weeks pg and had every intention of going. DS had other ideas and turned up 3 weeks early on November 1at - we gave the tickets to my Mum & her partner for an early Xmas present!! I would def say go and enjoy ;o

Wow, thanks everyone. I will definitely go then! Yes there will be a seat (sorry, should have made this clear in the first posting) so I don't think disabled section will be an option, but I can investigate.

Lulumama - I don't know really - my friend's waters broke at 35 weeks and she had to be induced - and she put it down to overdoing it. So I think that's what has worried me. But after all your encouragement I will definitely go - thanks.

You should definately go to the concert - It'll do you the world of good. I went to see Robbie Williams 3 weeks before my ds was born. I admit I was slighty apprehensive about standing on a cold football pitch along with thousands of other people at 38weeks pregnant but everyone was really kind and I felt great all through the concert - I couldn't stop dancing!! My friends also had a great laugh when I was too big to get my bump through the turnstile and had to be let in the fire exit!!! And I swear Archie always stops what he's doing when he hears Robbie on the Radio - he must have enjoyed it too.
Have a great time.

Go, go! I went to see Billy Bragg at 36 weeks, it was brilliant. Mind you I needed to go to the toilet alot and got some very strange looks over the course of the night. Also bumped into my midwife who said she thought it was brilliant idea! My bump - now a healthy gorgeous 6 mth old - loved the concert, dancing and kicking all night. Dunno medically whether it'll bring on premature labour, would doubt it myself but in a few weeks time you'll be begging for anything to bring on labour as bump may well feel totally immoveable! Anyway, if it does you can always call baby George/ Georgina in honour of the occassion and ask Mr Michael if he'll be a godparent!

Have a great night
