How did you tell your DC about your pregnancy?

I'm only 10 weeks. We are planning to tell 4yo DS after the 12 week scan. Ideally I would wait until as late as possible but I'm fucking fat huge already and people will guess soon; I want DS to find out from us rather than someone else.

How did you tell your DC that they were going to be a big brother / sister? Is there a 'right' way to explain that a new baby is on the way?

Ds is nine and quite wordly for his age. He knew we were trying as I'd discussed it with him before (dp isn't his dad and I've been a single mum to ds since birth so wanted to make sure he was okay with it). I told him the week I found out. I said to him "ds we have something to tell you" and he said "you're pregnant!". He's very happy. We've told close family anyway so he doesn't have to keep it a secret. We're very close so I couldn't have kept it from him till 12 weeks.
