My girls are almost a month old and were born at 35 weeks. They spent 10 days in SCBU and i specifically said that i wanted them to have Aptamil. They only had SMA or cow and gate. So i took in lots of my own but on their own accord they put my girls on SMA. They were born 4lbs 5 and 4lbs 6 and now weigh a brilliant 6lbs however they take 3.5oz or just under every feed and where as they keep it down they sometimes look uncomfortable. (Not wind) as i spend lots of time making sure they are winded and sometimes they even wind themselves but i've noticed they hold their tummies in sometimes and wince and sometimes constipated. I spent 3 hours with my girl between 12am and 3am this morning as she was unsettled and i am contemplating going back to the Aptamil but is there a difference? I'm a first time mum and just wanna get it right!

Aptimel made my dd1 so constipated and sick. We took her off it at 7 weeks and put her on hipp organic and it was so much better.

Neither of my girls got on with tommee tippee bottles either as they gave them terrible wind. I moved dd2 onto mam anti colic bottles at 8 weeks and they're so much better. She doesn't take in anywhere near as much air now.

I was giving ds3 SMA (I used SMA with my first two) but he started getting very smelly dark green poo and stopped pooing 2-3 times a day and only going every 3 days.
I switched to aptamil and within 2 days his poos were yellow again and he was doing at least one a day and a lot happier.
Might be a coincidence who knows. I've heard somewhere that SMA is quite rich, however it was fine for my first two.

I've bought a tub of SMA easy digest today which seems a little lighter and changed from Tommee to Dr Brown. The girls are in their baskets asleep and seem quite relaxed. Maybe because they were hungry after waiting longer for a feed due to me walking home from the shops with them in the pram or maybe.... fingers crossed they are more comfortable. I really hope so! I'm trying everything and trying to steer clear from infacol etc.
