I wouldn't because it would smell of smoke. Unless you 100%knew she never smoked with it or smoked in the house. It's impossible to get the smell out of a pushchair

It is not just the smell but the chemicals will increase the chance of SIDS.

Nope. Third hand smoke (yes that's a thing) can still harm your baby. no matter how well it's cleaned the toxins will linger.

Ok. I don't know if the seller is a smoker it just occurred to me that it did not list as from 'smoke free home' so I don't know whether to go and view it and see if there are any tell tale signs or ask her outright. If I ask her and she is not honest and tries to conceal any traces how would I know?

As a non smoker you would definitely smell it as soon as you walked in. My SIL smokes in her kitchen ugh and if my niece brings toys to mine I can smell it straight away. DH can tell if I've been in a smokers house at work even when they've not been smoking - my hair reeks with it.

I wouldn't - third hand smoke is a risk. You should be able to smell it as soon as you see the house/pram though. Check with the person selling it too, they may have just not thought of putting it in the advert.

I think it would be worth asking. No one in our house smokes but I would not think to put that on an advert. Think all the dog hair would put some people off!

As purple said, we don't smoke and I wouldn't think to list anything as being smoke-free. I actually think it sounds smug and slightly pretentious when I read it in an ad.

I would go and see it and make a judgement from there. It might be smoke free but falling to bits so you need to check it out first anyway.

Well I got it. No smell of smoke and cld not see any sign of cig in flat. Asked her as well she said no so hope all that equates to smoke free. It was a bit fragrant but she had washed overs etc.
