hello :) I'm 27 weeks and 1 day with my first and I have an anterior placenta which my midwife told me would mean that I wouldn't feel as much as other people at the same stage. Well I can feel him move like flutters and the odd wobble? not sure how else to explain that but looking at other posts and friends that are very close to me are getting big kicks and strong movements and it's starting to get me down that I can't feel him as much. is anybody else the same? Also what makes it slightly worse is that I have a very small bump growth and everything is fine but people just think I've gained weight rather then being pregnant :( Just feel like I'm missing out on the fun parts about being pregnant and only dealing with the crappy things like heartburn, backache and sleepless nights. Is anybody or has anybody been the same and suddenly got it all? xx

I had an anterior placenta as well. It took quite awhile to really feel the kicks strongly. Maybe around 30 weeks. The bump started getting much bigger around then as well. It will come and you'll probably be grateful for the anterior placenta later! I think it meant I had fewer painful in the ribs type of kicks that others got. I also was never woken up by kicks which I think was a blessing in later weeks!

ahh thats reassuring at least it will come :) and you're probably right about being grateful for it later on xx

I have an anterior placenta. I'm 39+4, I had posterior placenta last time and I don't think it's made much difference other than I felt this baby move slightly later, if anything this baby is much more active now than ds1 was. So I wouldn't worry that you're missing out.

I haven't got an anterior placenta, but the big kicks tend to be random one offs and usually you just feel wriggles and squirms. At 27 weeks you might not necessarily get them anyway. The big kicks kind of freak me out a little bit when they come right out the front, and some women get them in the ribs (uggh!). I think what you're describing sounds about right for 27 weeks. Also, this babe is different to my previous - one rolled alot and the other jiggles more.

I'm almost at the end of my 2nd pregnancy with an anterior placenta, by about 32 weeks I don't think it's much different to the feelings everyone else gets. As a pp mentioned, movements are all different - my 1st was a roller whereas this one is a kicker. I don't get woken in the night though which is great. Honestly, I'm being kicked to bits by my 38 wk baby now and I don't think I'd be enjoying it if it was stronger!

You have another c.13 weeks of the baby (and bump) getting much bigger and stronger (and more uncomfortable)! In the nicest possible way, enjoy the comfort to the extent you have it now Grin If you were massive and getting painfully booted in the riibs/bladder/cervix/spine now, it would be unbearable by the end.
