Pregnancy hormones giving me the RAGE!

Am 15 weeks and so far have not had too many sobbing emotional meltdowns, but I am finding that I am becoming more than usually irritated by little things, especially poor colleagues who make the terrible mistake of not finding that damn icon on the screen I'm pointing right at (going all the way round the screen until I stab at it repeatedly with my finger - THERE!!!), or getting the wrong end of the stick over something obviously simple. I can feel the rage and irritation bubbling up but so far have been able (I hope) to control myself. I feel that at some point soon I am going to explode and yell at someone over the stupidest small thing.

Anyone else feeling this?!

Yes.

Yesterday was particularly bad. Work getting piled on me, another 12 hour day at work extended by the idiotic USA team who have no concept of time zones. (I have asked them what time they think it is over here. They seem to think it's a two hour difference...)

As I sat there at seven pm almost in tears and starving hungry, my pregnancy hunger rage beginning to build, someone on the USA end of the phone said "no I can't meet you this afternoon, I have to pick the kids up."

If he'd have been on the same continent he wouldn't have gotten out of the meeting alive.

My sympathies. My idiot tolerance threshold is lowered as well. Hopefully I'm too spherical right now to any physical damage to anyone.

Just roll on them, Skiptonlass, like a giant weeble. That's shut the bastards up. Grin

Hahaha! yeah... I wonder what they would do if I just blew my lid? I'm usually very in control and the person who gets brought out to placate Angry Important People (apparently I have soothing radio 4 tones.)

You've made me laugh anyway, thanks.

I hope Monday is less moron- infested for you :)

MissMartin1992 · 30/05/2015 12:14

i work on a phone booking engineers and the customers are somtimes so dumb i feel like i could tell them to fu*k off.. i had to go tell my manager that i have no patience for these people and that they have given me a migrane.. so i left work early lolConfused

Skipton. AIPs - that made me laugh. I sometimes get used for dealing with them too. Currently only my DH is the joyful recipient of my pregnancy anger, but as I work with several f*ckwits it's only a matter of time before they get the sharp end of my tongue!

CoffeeAndOranges · 30/05/2015 13:37

Thanks Skipton - I have to go to a meeting my boss is chairing on Monday and there's something about the way he does it that makes my toes curl with cringiness. Will be supressing the urge to scream all the way through!

Today I watched a lady ,as I was in the queue behind her, use the self checkout till at sainsburys and I wanted to punch her for not knowing how to use it...she stood there for a good 5 minutes trying to ram a 5 pound note in the machine before she had touched "finish and pay"

How irrational?!

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 30/05/2015 21:41

I am working so hard to control my rage face at work. But it's made me a hell of a lot more assertive.

When I'm not crying in the car like a psycho to whatever song has set me off that day... Confused

Emjones88 · 30/05/2015 21:49

Yes, ridiculously irritibal, sometimes I really have to remember to be a reasonable human being.

Among a few other instances, Someone's persistent whimpy coughing annoyed me at work the other day, to the point I hs to walk away! Or I was going to shout something lol. Probably my most irrational irritable moment so far.

I want to apologize on behalf of my countrymen in the US. Some of us do understand time zones. It's really not hard these days- you can google "current time London" and it will tell you. You used to have to do some math, but not any more.

I'm in a rage sometimes, between the hormones and not being able to drink as much caffeine as I normally do. You do NOT want to be around me when I haven't had any caffeine.

Skiptonlass · 31/05/2015 11:20

You're forgiven, geekymommy #not all Americans :)

There's just a huge double standard in my company - I have to do the 3am calls with Asia because 'there are no overlapping work hours with the U.S.'

Pointing out that 3am isn't exactly my working day either has gotten me labelled as a lazy commie. Then I have to stay late because the USA have no concept of the world as a globe. But god forbid I schedule a call a second before 9 am there, because you see, people are dropping off their children..... Drives me mad. I'll be moving as soon as my mat leave is up, they are killing me.

No one, and I mean no one (I've been there) works out of hours in the U.S. Office.

I will try to keep my simmering resentment in check :)

I'm with you on the caffeine. I pretty much had an IV line of tea in before pregnancy....
