Baby boy sleepsuits - where to buy non logo, sweet clothes

I'm looking for places to buy baby boy sleepsuits and need ideas!
Big no-no's: Disney, logos/slogans, old man clothes
Likes: stripes, primary colours
Not too expensive though. H and M do some stripy short sleeved vests I like, boots mini club have nice pictured stuff and I like jojomaman Bebe but they're pricey. Any ideas where to look?

I didn't know the sex of my first, and I'm not finding out this time, so I got neutral-ish clothes (from boy's, girl's, and unisex sections) that will do for both for money saving reasons. I think as long as the clothes are soft and comfortable the baby doesn't care. Some of the outfits such as tutus in itchy material I can't imagine are very comfortable for babies learning to crawl

Wanker Yes, I do generally wear gender neutral stuff myself, actually. Jeans, t shirts, trainers. I also work in an extremely male dominated field, and prefer Classic Car Weekly to Cosmo. That's why I don't like the idea of rigidly defining a gender role for my kid through clothing. What if they would really rather not dress in that sort of clothing or do those sorts of things? Better to get in the habit of dressing them in comfortable, practical stuff, and wait until they are able to express their own preferences. If they like the same stuff as me, that will make things easy, and if they like different stuff it'll be a really fun adventure!
I'm not fussed about the occasional top with diggers on (diggers are pretty awesome), but it can actually seem really difficult to avoid EVERY top having diggers on for a boy and every top having butterflies on for a girl, and that's a problem.

Myself, I always wear pink. Day in, day out. Normally with a cartoon character logo, or sometimes a tasteful message such as "Little cutie" emblazoned across my front in rhinestones. If I wear jeans they have to have bows or butterflies appliqued on them somewhere. But I prefer wickle frocks with matching tights stretched across my chubby legs. Oh, and of course, a matching headband with a bow.

My 2.5 year old can wear diggers and cars if he wishes. He LIKES those things. That's great!

My newborn, he will have zero opinion on diggers and shit. So he can wear nice bright coloured stuff while he figures out exactly what the fuck a digger is!

I've posted a picture of the stuff I've bought. It's mostly Next, with some John Lewis and Boots. Next is definitely the best place to get the kind of thing you want though.

That all looks lovely detective the point is that your child will equally have no opinion on sheep or stripes or spots or yellow or red etc. so I am not really sure where the hatred of diggers and cars comes in. Confused

Ach maybe it's just me.

I guess we all dress our babies in what we like until they express a preference, but I think it's a bit off to project that view on to what others choose. As long as the clothes are practical and appropriate to the weather conditions then I don't really care :)

I've only had boys and didn't know in advance what they were, so maybe it's more obvious if you have mixed genders etc. I can't recall really having any issues. Mine were never into football but people gave them PJs with footballs on, it never crossed my mind to be upset or annoyed. DS1 used to like a bit of pink when it was fashionable for boys but DS2 didn't like it so he picked something else. The one thing i did notice was that he loved cats but all the "boys" stuff had dogs on and all the things with cats on were "frilly girly" things.

Nice clothes hauls! Wondering if I can be bothered to take photos of my newborn stash- I probably can't TBH, but the hospital bag contains: 1 yellow sleepsuit with polka dots, 1 lime green sleepsuit, 1 with pink and yellow birds, 2 purple vests, one with rockets and spaceships on, 1 pair brown and turquoise tracky bottoms, 1 blue vest, 1 vest w/ multicoloured polka dots....

(having a boy, by the way Grin).

Ilovenannyplum · 25/05/2015 17:00

No diggers?! ShockWink

hoarseoldfrog · 25/05/2015 17:14

Ha I have those apple/chevron/stripes suits from boots! Also the elephants mentioned before. Since our surprise turned out to be a boy we are drowning in blue clothes from gifts but with the amount of changes he's getting through, I've stopped noticing....

Ilovenannyplum · 25/05/2015 17:27

I looooooove the apple/chevron ones from Boots. He also has the vests. In current size and next size up.

You know, just incase they've discontinued them by the time he gets that big. I need help Grin

Can I just add here that if my DH has a look at my browsing history he is going to wonder what's going on given that he had a vasectomy in 2002! :o

Follow it up with "surprise! It didn't work properly what babygros do you like DH?'

WankerDeAsalWipe · 25/05/2015 20:29

I think there would be a stewards enquiry :o Don't think teen DSs would be too chuffed either...

On the other hand we do have a spare room :)

As an aside, I was in Sainsbo's this evening and they have 25% off all TU clothing so I went for a wander - Had a quick look at the baby stuff as I went past (I need to get a grip of myself!) and there was surprisingly little items with diggers or cars on, I saw a t-shirt with a camper van and another with a beach buggy but otherwise, lots of crabs, starfish, dinosaurs etc.
