I feel like doing some reading. Are there books anyone would particularly recommend? Thanks

I loved the pregnancy for dummies book. Very informative and had lots of info about when you should worry or seek medical help.
Also had loads of info about all the different tests but wasn't scary and was enjoyable and often humorous to read.

Really liked What To Expext When You're Expecting and First Time Parent (Lucy Atkins I think? Good advice although is very much based on her own experience imo)

The best book I read about pregnancy and birth was Nicole Croft's, I think it's called the good birth companion.

And if it's your first don't forget to read books about babies as well! Lucy Atkins' first time parent is good, not preachy just the basics.

Really hating "what to expect..." So boring, so do this don't do that. I want to slap the person who wrote it. I'm only 9+5 so maybe it'll grow on me.

Love love love "Expecting Better" by Emily Oster. Excellent information.

Flor I'm expecting DC2 and no, still absolutely hate What to expect. So patronising, and have you got to the page where they give advice about eating? "What do do if I only want to eat junk food?" "Well, try not to, it's not good for you".
You don't say..

I love the pregnancy day by day book. I got it hardback for about £4 from able books!

I also have what to expect when your expecting, I quite like it from a balanced point of view, but agree it's slightly grating!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've heard good things about the "Expecting Better" book before, I might start with that

'Expecting Better' is amazing. It's written from a great evidence base. It really helped me to make some good decisions early on in my pregnancy, and has continued to be a bit of a bible for me.
