First pregnancy! And I'm shocked at how hairy I've become!! Forget arms & legs which I'm constantly having to shave. But now it's upper lip, chin & eyebrows!!

Before I got pregnant I had PCOS so was used to the facial hairynes lol.

But down there is becoming so bad, I'm scared when the baby comes they won't be able to see the head through all the hair! It's so embarrassing!!

Is it something that needs to be shaved before baby comes or will they still see his head coming out.

So embarrassed

Is it better than gaviscon Laura?

Oh my god I'm glad it's not just me! Seriously, before the pregnancy I was incredibly hairy. Thought I had a hormone disorder etc, docs said no (although I'm still skeptical! ). I'm very dark haired with pale skin so it stands out loads AND the hairs are thick like a blokes.

I am more hairy than my fella.

Pre preggo I have always embarked on a very strict anti-hair regime which basically means shaving my entire bloody body every bloody day. And yes, this includes my bum! My BUM! I mean, wtf?

But now I'm pregnant, due sept, it's getting so difficult! I can't manoeuvre properly in the bath, it's like watching a beached fish flail about in distress. And on top of this I'm even more hairy and it's growing quicker. Like, if I shave my legs I've got stubble 3 hrs later.

Sorry for the essay but I am genuinely worried about how I'm going to continue with the 'hair management'. And during labour, I'd have to shave pretty constantly to keep on top of things which obv isn't gonna happen!!

Wish I was normal! :-( xx

Yes Bair I would say works better than gaviscon. Seems to help within a few minutes and I am only having to take one a day.

I've got dh to tidy up with clippers, can't see down there any more.
2nd child and I can guarantee that in labour you won't care but the post-birth bleeding is less icky the less hairy you are I reckon.

Bair · 18/05/2015 09:15

You're as normal as I am Plonkie, not sure if that's actually any comfort Grin.

I have bum hair and a tache, and belly hair, and toe hair, and my pubes have started down my thighs I reckon lots of women are exactly the same as us, but no one wants to talk about it!

So I'll stand here and say My name is Bair and I am one hairy mary!

I bet I'm not the first the midwife will see nor the last, and if a bit of bum hair offends her that little delicate flower is going to have to suck it the fuck up as statistically I'm going to shit in the birthing pool at some point.

Oh my goodness, I've found my people. I'm going on holiday soon and ain't setting foot on the beach looking like an ape! My stomach is so hairy, even the midwife looked shocked when she was checking for the baby's heartbeat.

I think it's a good sign though. Sometimes people's hair stops growing during pregnancy and I've heard that's down to the baby taking all the mothers nutrients. So I suppose this is the opposite!

lauraa4 · 18/05/2015 09:32

I'm going on holiday soon too and am debating whether or not to take a trip down the beauticians for a wax!

So glad its not just me!! And yes, I shave my tummy as well as everything else :-/. I have my anomaly scan at 4pm later and am planning a quick tummy shave before I go. Gross but necessary! ! X
