Hiya.

used to work on this website here (just voluntary) and there's a huge list of ideas on there for sickness and nausea, well worth a browse. Preggie Pops did indeed seen to help some people, there were various notions why- stabilation of blood sugar, prevention of excess salivation etc.
But they did seem to help.

Other key things to remember are to get lots of rest (severity of sickness can sometimes be linked to tiredness),eat what you fancy when you fancy, and keep hydrated- foods sucha s melon, lettuce, ice lollies- all easy on the tummy and high in fluids.

I found that they temporarilty took my mind off the sickness but didnt cure it.. and the are very expensive - normal lollies worked just the same!!

Also found ginger nut biscuits helped me.. especially on a morning, not leaving it too long between eating - which I know is easier said than down when you feel rubbish but if you can keep nibbling on things like cheddars or plain biscuits then it gives your tummy something to work on, which can help to prevent sickness feeling.

(read the self help tips part- forgot to say that)

My husband bought me some for my birthday a couple of weeks ago! They do help, although I found that it was fleeting - Id soon be feeling sick again half an hour after having one. Also, as geordie says, they are relatively pricey.

I've found the followings useful to ease morning sickness so far; asking my husband to bring me some toast before I get out of bed in the morning, eating little and often, avoiding large and/or spicy meals, resting as much as possible - tiredness does make it a lot worse, making a note of any foods or even smells that set the sickness off and avoiding them as far as possible.

Another thing I've noticed is that I've started to associate certain activities with morning sickness too because I once did them when I had a really bad bout. For example, I once browsed the JoJo Maman BeBe website while holding a bucket in one hand - now I cant even look at a brochure from them (never mind the website) without heaving! And I do believe it's morning sickness related heaving!! '

Creena- that associated nausea isn't unknown: it's almost 7 years since I had HG, yet i still cannot even look at either gold shoes or teracotta coloured trousers withoput the nausea, as they were things I bouhgt at the same time.

Bizarrer isn't it? My Psych lecturer a few years ago told me there's lots of research interest in the phenomenon
