33 weeks and agonising pelvic pain

It's got so much worse over the past 2 days - last week it was uncomfortable groin pain (the baby's head is quite low) but now my whole pelvis is in very sharp pain. Sometimes I can ignore it but at others I am hobbling along, feeling almost crippled and practically crying in pain. Especially when having to twist to one side or climb stairs.
Have been taking paracetamol but now wondering if this is that SPD (?) thing?
Have phoned midwife but not been called back yet.

Definitely sounds like SPD. Unlike normal back pain where you're encouraged to keep moving, with SPD you must slow down and stop altogether if possible or you could do some permanent damage. I had SPD with dd's pg and didn't really do as little as I was meant to - I lifted ds in and out off his car seat daily (2.5 at the time and not v physical) and so even though dd is now 17 months I still have a lot of pain.

If your GP or M/W aren't helpful then you need to bypass them and self refer to the hospital physio. They will give you a support belt and exercises plus advice for labour which will be crucial.

In the meantime have a look for the Pelvic Partnership website which will give you loads of advice.

No lifting or excessive walking - get waited on hand and foot from now on - not long to go!

Could have been me writing this, it's bloody awful isn'tt it I got to the stage yesterday where I was almost on my knees by the time I got back from the school run.
My midwife has given me the number to phone maternity physio on the ward but for a belt we have to pay and its £20 that I could do without spending.
I have been prescribed co dydramol by gp and that helps but I limit the amount of times I take them.
Do you get shooting pains that feel like it is ttravelling up your urethra?? TMI I know but I thoughtt it was a uti and the results were fine so nopt sure if this is something seperate or part of spd.

Feel for you hun xx Speak to Gp to see about painkillers and physio for belt/crutches.

thanks for all the info.
magnolia - I was having those shooting pains but they have kind of subdued.
The midwife has called back now and I've phoned the physio department at the hospital and left a message.
Am going to try and take it easy now - no more long walks and I'm going to take the car for the school runs. Even hoovering is agonising so dh will have to do it. It's very frustrating. I've got loads of decorating to do pre baby as well.
