Hi
I am 14 weeks 7 have got slight pains & a really heavy dragging feeling in my stomach. Called the hospital yesterday & they were not really interested unless I had significant pains or bleeding. They basically said to see how it goes. I am feeling worried & not sure if I should do anything or just take it easy. Has anyone else felt the same or similar?

it is part of the uterus growing and expanding...and all the ligaments supporting it moving to accommodate it......there is a whole lot of activity going on in your body as your body changes to make room for the uterus....and your growing baby........there are so many physical and hormonal changes going on, you are bound to feel some odd pains ...

virtually all women get niggles, pains, cramps, dragging feeling etc..throughout pregnancy..... it is part and parcel of carrying a baby!

unless you have bleeding or very sharp pains that persist...there is not a lot the hospital will do.......i had this in both pregnancies..and had 2 healthy babies...!

just try to relax...take it easy.....look after yourself ......

easier said than done i know!!

try a warm bath, and a rest........

Thanks lulumama. Its good to hear that its normal.
Its my first and I have no idea what is normal & what is something to worry about. When some people seem to feel no different to usual and I feel so strange its hard not to worry. I am working full time and although I sit at a desk for most of the day I am wondering whether to stay at home tomorrow. I just feel like I dont want to move around at all as if feels so uncomfortable.

Hi Lucia22, At 14 weeks your uterus is really starting to pull out of your pelvis.

I have had the same already and I'm 12+5 today. I had it with both my first pg's too. It is very common and as lulumama says there is just so much going on down there. I think it depends on how in tune with your body you are too. I am very in tune with mine and feel every little thing happening which I'm sure some people don't notice.

Best of luck.

lucia...if you are able to take the day off..it might do you good...BUT.not if you are going to be at home worrying about every twinge! keeping busy might help....

make sure you take regular breaks at work, drink water , fruit teas. or decaf tea...and have a little stretch of your legs throughout the day...

and there is always lots of support here!!

it is sooo hard not to worry about every twinge & niggle....but most of the time,.your body tells you when you need to worry....
