When did your midwife talk about doing a birth plan?
I am 29 weeks and they haven't mentioned it to me at all.
Shall I do my own on the NHS site?

My mw asked to to have a look at the birth plan section of my notes and write down some things round about 32 weeks - she didn't sit over me while I did it, just encouraged me to have a look and think about it

Thanks, I thought it would be earlier than that.
I will start the plan and then when I go to my appointments can ask if I have any questions :)

We went through mine in my notes at the 36week appointment, I think this is because it's a week before being considered full term. I actually have a written and printed one though, although I see them as birth preferences rather than a plan, you just can't plan these things!!
Any time before 37 weeks and you would be considered prem and therefore unlikely to be able to make the birth choices you can from 37weeks.

Probably not helpful but I was asked by MW at 36 week appt and I said 'anything goes!' Which is what she wrote in my notes! I ended up with a natural birth as ds decided he had to come out NOW! 1hr 52 mins.

Mine was bang on 37weeks, she knew I wanted a home birth but forgot and had to rush that day to get my pack delivered to my house. I think it should be done a little earlier if I'm honest. This is my 3rd so know in a way what to expect if all goes to plan.

My MW said to talk to her about it after I'd done my antenatal class, as then I'd know much more about options. But that only applies if it's your first, I guess!
