Has anyone had labour start early before a planned CS?

I have a planned cs booked in, but the earliest they can (or will) do it is when I will be 39 + 3. I am really paranoid that things will happen before then, although this is not based on anything scientific as my first was born by emergency cs after being induced for high BP at 41 weeks!
Has anyone had any experience of going into labour before a planned cs? I am worried about not being able to decide what to do if that happens....the one thing I am desperate to avoid is going through both labour and a cs again, as it was a really bad experience. But if labour started before the date booked, then even if I dashed in it would still effectively be an emergency cs. I would basically have to decide whether to try for a VBAC or rush for the cs.
I know I will be stressing about every twinge until the date comes!

Hi! Yes, I was booked in for 38wk cs, but dd has other plans, and came at 32! All my carefully laid plans for support and time off for dh and dm had gone tits up, so I just went for VBAC.

Why are you having a cs this time?

I'm booked for 39+1. Midwife told me not to worry, and that if I went into labour ahead of the date they'd do a CS anyway.

I was ten days overdue and refused induction in favour of continuous monitoring. At 40+ 12 when literally nothing was happening despite me being very fit and active, a sweep and weeks of acupuncture, my midwife advised seeing a consultant who said she thought I was likely to be a poor candidate for induction and was quite likely to end up with a CS anyway, so I booked in an ELCS for after the weekend, with the idea that I would give myself another few days to try to go into labour. Labour did start the day before, but it didn't progress, despite intense contractions, and they just did the CS anyway. But it was not a 'crash' CS, and it was lovely.

Ok Baby so a cs even after labour has started doesn't have to be a stressful panicky affair?
Bastard (sorry for abbreviation!) I decided to opt for a cs this time for a whole load of reasons. The birth the first time around was pretty awful, and a failed induction meant a long and intense labour which resulted in a very rushed and stressful cs. Wiped me out for weeks. Because it was due to high BP which was likely to happen again, I had a relatively high chance of a VBAC ending in another emergency cs. If I could be guaranteed a VBAC wouldn't end in a cs I'd go for that....but of course there are no such things as guarantees in childbirth!
