Hi! I'm starting to get a little buldge and am finding it uncomfortable in bed, I'm a on side sleeper and feel like a need to put a pillow or something underneath for comfort/support.

I've seen these massive pillows and wondered if they are much good? Comfortable? And can anyone recommend where to buy one please?
Thanks

Widgy pillow currently lay on it, it's amazing I got mine from little woods but I think they do them on Amazon Wink

MummyPiggy87 · 25/04/2015 00:59

Thank you both.
That one in Argos looks ideal as it's not too thick!

I've got a huge body pillow think it was from Argos also. But it is HUGE between me and it in bed there not much room for anyone else!

I have this one from Mothercare although I got it from eBay second hand. It's great and feels much more substantial than the dream genii which I used in my first pregnany.

Have a look in TK Maxx as well. i saw a very similiar pillow last week for £30. I was quite tempted with it but I have been surviving well with my very old V shaped pillow as that tucks between my knees and under the bump

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 25/04/2015 13:44

I'm currently using this one which is brilliant and was only £7.50 when I got it - still think its a good buy at £15. I had the dream genii one last time but the bit that was supposed to go under you got really annoying towards the end and was v expensive.

FernGullysWoollyPully · 25/04/2015 13:47

They have them in toysrus. I'd love one, am so uncomfortable in bed right now!

d0ttyne11 · 25/04/2015 13:55

I bought my V shaped pillow in ikea for about £7 last October / November. It's been brill. When I saw the prices (& bulkiness) of the other 'proper' pregnancy ones on the market I was reminded of people sticking 'wedding' in front of stuff and trying to over charge me for stuff 4 years ago Envy

Good luck Wink

I have this, it's a long sausage type pillow. It really supports my bump and now I have spd it's long enough to sleep in a physio approved position. The cover is lovely and soft and is cool enough that I don't feel all sweaty and horrible.

I've got this, which I love, but it is HUGE. www.amazon.co.uk/Sanggol-Maternity-Pillow-REMOVABLE-COTTON/dp/B00LJR51AW

I ended up getting the Argos one.
Will be testing tonight!! Grin
Thank you for all your replys.

I bought a HUGE one from eBay and LOVE it, it has also come in handy for co sleeping, I put it under the duvet which I lie on top of and it keeps me and ds seperate from my dh whilst being in the same bed!

Slacktacular · 25/04/2015 20:43

I didn't feel like I needed one with my first pregnancy but I'm 31wks now with DC2 and couldn't be without my Theraline pillow. I've been having lots of pelvic and lower back pain and sleep is basically impossible without 'The Other Husband' as DH has christened it (on account of all the space it hogs in the bed and my attachment to it!). I love it - it's got polystyrene beads in so actually stays where you put it, and you can vary the thickness along the length of it by moving the beads around. It's great as a V pillow for reading and I'll be using it for breastfeeding too.

pinkie1982 · 26/04/2015 19:34

I couldn't get on with this. I have a wedge pillow that's brilliant

TheFillyjonk · 26/04/2015 19:42

I have a Dream Genii but, to be honest, I don't think it's very good. I need support for my hips (which it doesn't give) and have to double it up into a kind of pretzel shape to get any relief. I couldn't sleep with a pillow between my legs so that bit of the Dream Genii is kind of redundant for me... I also find that at 31 weeks, my bump is so tender that even a pillow "digs in" and feels sore.

I think it all depends which bit of you is sore and needs support. I'd have been best off with a long flat pillow for my side, I think.

Gunpowder · 26/04/2015 19:49

I don't raye Dream genii either. It's ££ and the cover isn't 100% cotton so it goes bobbly and itchy. I've sacked mine off for a john Lewis v pillow and lots of normal down pillows. I make a sort of nest.

Purpleball · 26/04/2015 19:52

I love my dream genie pillow. It was recommended by a few peopl and I'm glad I got one. If I'm away without it, I don't sleep anywhere near as well

Gunpowder · 26/04/2015 21:10

*Rate not raye.

MrsAnxiety1 · 27/04/2015 10:18

I can't get enough of the Theraline pillow. It's not the cheapest but it is one of the most comfy I tried (I did a lot of pillow-hugging in shops Wink) as it moulds to your body, stays cool/warm and is very light to lift from side to side as you change sleeping positions. I think the filling is key for this pillow as it is filled with sand-like granules that have a bit of heft but aren't heavy and feels so comfortable in virtually any position.

I also use it to help with reflux at night by sitting with it behind me to keep my head up - which works really well!

Number3cometome · 27/04/2015 11:10

OH bought me this for my birthday - it was the best present EVER

He even tries to sleep on it with me ha!

I am 28+1 and have a spinal fusion, so my back usually aches anyway, but this thing really helps! I am finding apart from waking to pee that I can sleep!
