Down's syndrome result - no actual numbers!?

Just received my Down's syndrome result back through the post.
Letter just states 'low risk' in actual results for nuchal fold, Papp A or hcg.
No risk/odds either.
Is this the norm?
Clearly I'm relieved to be low risk but would have liked the actual result.

Sorry should say no actual result!

Mine gave the risk in numbers as well as saying 'low risk'

Fluffin · 24/04/2015 13:30

I just had a letter saying low risk, asked my mw and apparently that's normal in South Wales.

seaoflove · 24/04/2015 13:34

I didn't get any numbers second time around. Just "low risk for Downs".

First time (different hospital/NHS Trust) I got a 1 in XXXX for Downs, Edwards and Pataus plus the actual blood results. So it really does differ depending on where you are.

I never got any numbers or a letter, my midwife just told me low risk at my 16 week appointment and that was it

WillowB · 24/04/2015 13:49

Oh! Seems it's prob the norm here too then. I might ask my midwife if she has them at my appointment next week.

I've just had my letter today and been told low risk 1 in 7800 risk of downs at term. Is this okay

Number3cometome · 24/04/2015 16:34

Mine was low risk 1 in 7250, so you can safely assume your risk is at least that or lower.

WillowB · 24/04/2015 17:36

I think 1:250 is the cutoff for low risk so I think it must be lower than that?
Our NHS trust doesn't test for Edwards or pataus

Mine told me I was one in 9000-
In this area the cut off for high risk is one in 200. So I wouldn't worry.
