For those of you who use a ssc, to what stage of your pregnancy were you able to use it? I'm three months pregnant and I'm using a tula/manduca to carry my eighteen month old. Dreading having to pull out the buggy!

Can you use your sling for back carrying as well?

DeladionInch · 22/04/2015 16:20

I've switched to a double hammock from a ruck with my 2.5yo, but can't tolerate anything round my diaphragm area. can you get to a sling library I'm sure there's a way you can redo the waist band to avoid a bump, but it might be with a mei tai...

I always back carry, I'm assuming that the waist band won't be comfortable in a few months. Must try and get to a sling meet at some point

Spotted the mei tai way, dunno if it could be adapted to SSC?

I back carried my 2.4 year old up to 38 weeks... And I had SPD but I found slinging was easier on my SPD than pushing a buggy, and it kept my core muscles strong. Had a much easier labour I think partly as a result.

I tended to use woven wraps rather than our wompat as I found the waist difficult to adjust high enough, but have since seen there is a hack you can do to "convert" it to onbu type carries. I'm more a wrapper anyway :)

Thanks for the tips!
