Hi!! I'm only 14 weeks so in no rush to buy (itching to though!!!) but we are not finding out the sex of this baby. We found out on ds and dd, never went over the top but bought little boy/girl clothes and something unisex just in case! Mum and Dh say we should buy one item for a boy and one for a girl like hats or socks etc nothing big (and obviously unisex stuff too) what did you do? I was just happy to buy a special/more fancy neutral sleep suit etc for when coming home from hospital and the rest be white? Just curious to see what others did Smile xxx

I'm not having a surprise, however all the clothes we have bought for our little boy have been gender neutral, as we don't go in for the whole blue/pink thing and much prefer the look of the creams/whites/greens/bright coloured clothes.

We're having a girl, I bought a white blanket from boots with grey elephants on it and green trim :) for when we bring her home from hospital

ThePickledPoet · 21/04/2015 09:05

On our ds we went for more creams and whites too! We did buy the few blue items (like white baby grows with blue patterns etc) bought lots of pinks and lemons with dd though Grin
I'm just not bothered and hadn't really thought of buying an item for either way! Wondered if it's what people did! (I'm probably too nosey! Haha) Smile xxx

Bought an overpriced sleep suit from jojo to come home in and a rabbit comforter.
Congratulations.

When baby is here people will buy you loads of pink and blue so I wouldn't get anything extra. I bought neutral for my surprise and looking at DS's clothes it soon turned into blue / tractors etc
Worth browsing the boys and girls sections as a lot of the stuff is still neutral e.g. elephants, stripes, animals but a bit more exciting than the unisex section

Micah · 21/04/2015 09:47

Don't you have all the stuff from the last two?

Mine was a surprise, but I'm not keen on the whole gender separation thing, so I bought yellow/cream/white/red. However when DD arrived we were absolutely inundated with pink. Bloody pink everywhere. I don't mind one or two bits and pieces, but this was 20 or so outfits, including pink Nike trainers. Dresses, skirts, tights, not one bit practical.

Fortunately the vast majority was mothercare or next, so I returned it all and got some nice, plain, comfy, easy to wrestle babygro's, and the rest spent on practical stuff like grobags :).

I bought gender neutral stuff (mostly White) and bright colours (stripes, etc). But I too am not into the whole gendering of babies.

poocatcherchampion · 21/04/2015 10:02

Im on my third as well and am not planning on buying anything.

poocatcherchampion · 21/04/2015 10:03

Sorry - actually if it is a boy I suppose I might get some appropriate clothes for him at some point, but maybe not til 6months ish.

ThePickledPoet · 21/04/2015 10:12

Thanks Smile no, I gave most of their things to my niece and nephew (apart from the special outfits) we have all the other essentials but starting over with clothes! I told Dh that so many clothes and gifts will be given (big family) that it's silly to buy ott! If I'm honest though, it's really hard not to go mad with all of the beautiful sweet outfits out there!! Smile Xxx

I'm 14+6 with a team yellow baby. I'm not buying much in the way of clothes, just enough to get it (hate saying it but what else can I call it?) home from the hospital and last a couple of days. My mum has bought a beautiful grey and mint green set from boots which will probably be our 'coming home' outfit and I've bought a set from asda in neutral with 'brand new' on the front.

Stinkylinky · 21/04/2015 13:56

GAP do lovely gender neutral stuff as do Asda Smile

Toothfairy87 · 21/04/2015 17:15

Hi !! We are having a surprise too!!
We have gone for super cute white and beige items ... Little white sleep suits with bears on, or giraffes, maybe some yellow in it somewhere ... Or with unisex patterns on like vegetables ! There are some cute vests and bodysuits in mothercare that are white with vegetable pattern all over! I had to get these!

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 21/04/2015 18:30

Asda have gorgeous stuff ; we had a surprise with DD and never want to find out with future kids either :)
