Hi, experts advice please hehe. Had my dating scan yesterday and baby measures in at 64.7mm and the NT is 1.9mm is this average, do I need to be concerned? Baby is 13 weeks gestation. Thanks

I think anything over 3.5mm is cause for concern and yours is well below that so there's no need to worry about that result :)

Your care team should have advised you as to how they let you know about individual risk. Are you having the blood tests too and waiting for a combined risk? A nuchal fold measurement under 3.5mm is considered normal in my area. Some places have different parameters but certainly 1.9mm is perfectly average. If you are having the bloods too however, this will decide your individual risk. You can have a 1.9mm fold and odds of 1:20000 and a 1.9mm fold and odds of 1:50. It's the bloods which make all the difference.

Thanks for responses :) Ahhh grantaire this makes sense now as I felt they had left me in the dark abit but as I did have the blood tests I now remember being told I would recieve a letter with results (whoops) too excited about seeing baby and forgot this was mentioned. Thank you x

No problem. The letter comes through pretty quickly iirc. They would have told you of any concerns during the scan. So far everything sounds exactly as you'd expect. It is pretty amazing seeing the baby and you tend to forget everything else.

Congratulations and best of luck for a healthy pregnancy.

Your nt sounds good.

I'd wait for the bloods to come back first though as they add much more to the 'story'.

With a 'good' nt measurement you're probably looking at a low risk for ds, however, the measurement has little baring on the other trisomies.
