Baby never stops bouncing around - am I in for a rough ride when he's born?!

I'm nearly 34 weeks with my 2nd, and during the night in particular he seems to be constantly bouncing around in there. Big, nauseating movements that are impossible to sleep through. Last night I was awake at least once an hour and he was jigging around having a fine old time.
I really don't remember exactly what it was like with my dd, now 3, but I'm sure it wasn't anything like this. Does this mean I'm in for trouble when he's born?! I had so hoped for a nice chilled out baby and I'm paranoid I may have quite the opposite.
Does anyone have any experience of this, did your over active babies as bumps turn out to be the same once they were born? Also, how on earth do you sleep through it?!

My DS never moved much during pregnancy but is a non stop whirlwind now.

I'm currently pregnant and this one is constantly dancing about - I am hoping it will mean they will be a bit quieter when it arrives!

I think you just feel it more with subsequent pregnancies although DC2 is a lot more lively than DC1 (now age 12 + 7)

DC3 is lively and due in July, although he is very active in the day and quieter at night (for now!)

Yes, mine was like that.
Once I had some pain and went to hospital to listen to baby's heart. He had to be still for 10 minutes in order for doc to get heart rate. I spent almost 2 hours lying there and hoping my baby would stop moving. Some doctor came to look at the 'crazy baby' :D I remember asking if he will be hyperactive :))
When he was born- he was the most amazing, cool baby who never cried, was really content and happy.
So don't worry :)

My pregnancy was like that too and I never managed to sleep through it! Once dd was born she was very content. Slept well, only cried for a feed, no trouble at all.

My first PG was like this, I remember once saying to a similarly pregnant friend "Ouch! You know when the baby just FLINGS itself around, sticks an arm in your ribs and a foot in your groin" and she went "um, no?" He just wriggled, kicked and bounced around non-stop. When he was born by CS he was handed to DP who said he just carried on wriggling in the exact same way he did inside, and he's been a fidgeter ever since. He was a lot of fun as a baby though, very active and giggly, but it wasn't a bad thing.

Phew! So it's not necessarily a done deal then. My first was pretty high maintenance as a baby and also now as a toddler, so I am really hoping I've earned some credits against a nice chilled out one....I'll just have to hope that someone's keeping count!

Cor I'm the same. Dc1 was wriggly bit this one!!! My gosh. Literally like something from the movies. Literally see limbs head and bum wriggling and kicking around. It's stops me in my tracks. Also very awake at night making big hard to sleep.
Dc1 is a dream so was thinking this one may be a little trouble ... Was like you hoping for another chilled out bubba. Time will tell. Grin

Every time I had a scan they commented on how lively DD was. She's 9 months old now and never fucking stops. Never has! She is strong and absolutely desperate to get walking. I need eyes in the back of my head. Hopefully yours won't be as much of a pest lively :)

This thread has made me feel very happy. I have a lunatic currently squatting in my uterus and have actually been wondering the past few days if it's going to be a nutter on the outside too! 37 weeks today.

franksidebottom · 16/04/2015 17:31

im also nearly 34 weeks with a very bouncy active baby, I do get some funny looks when I yelp in agony I find it so uncomfortable at times this is dc3 I don't remember feeling these movements in my last two pregnancies

My girl was very calm in utero and is a lazy little thing! 7 years old and loves her bed. My boy, however caused me terrible discomfort when I was carrying him, now he's 5 and hasn't stopped since! He's crazy active and loves sports!
