Hi
I've read that your not meant to sleep on your back in later pregnancy and that you are meant to sleep on your left side to aid blood flow, thing is I have been getting really sore hips from sleeping on one side. I've tried the pillow between legs but this seems to make my hips and back worse as it's keeping them open in an angle.
Also I'm quite slight but have a very 'out there' bump and often feel achey in the bump in the morning as though I've been squashing it and obviously don't want to be restricting the babies room in there by doing so. Baby is transverse so when I lie on my side I feel like I'm squashing his head or bottom - all bump hardly any water.
Any advice ?

I'm in exactly the same boat at 29 weeks. I've got a pregnancy pillow and tried all different ways to stop my hips aching, legs cramping and avoid squashing the bump.

I would say that I've heard it doesn't matter which side you sleep on, so you are able to keep switching if this makes you more comfortable.

Hopefully somebody will come along with a proper solution for us!

sleep in whatever position you're most comfortable. Honestly, it doesn't make that much of a difference. Some women get dizzy when they lay on their backs, but I never had this issue personally.

36 weeks and feeling physically sick today from tiredness due to crippling hip and back pain through the night. Laying on your side with a pillow under your bump helps somewhat though. Sad
