Just that really. I've read online that some people feel better during pregnancy, but others don't, so I just wondered what everyone else's experiences were?

Me! Im now 34 weeks and apart from being uncomfortable because of my big bump i have been relatively pain free. I have survived the whole pregnancy with no pain medication whereas before i was pregnant i was on cocodomol, gabapentin and dihydrocodeine daily. I dont know how things will change once i have the baby and i am worried i may experience a crash pain wise.
Are you pregnant Penguin?

That's great things seem to have improved for you for now :) Fingers crossed it stays that way after delivery for you!

Yeah, I am pregnant. I'm 24 weeks. I'm just feel so so poorly atm. The GP, midwife and consultant aren't sure if I feel so ill due to anaemia or M.E. The GP mentioned iron infusion via IV today, so I'm just hoping I'll feel better after that. I'm just scared if it's the M.E making me feel poorly that it's only going to get worse.

I'm also worried about how I'll cope with the birth. Have you had to discuss it with a consultant or anything?

I have fibromyalgia which is similar. I tend to go into remission during pregnancy but when hormones change about 3 months post birth I'm very ill.

I have CFS and I feel much better during pregnsncy than I did before.

I've had 2 previous sections op so will be booked in for another one at 39 weeks, I have had extra consultant appointments and they will be keeping an eye on things after the birth.
Sorry you are feeling so awful, like pregnancy doesn't wipe you out enough as it is!

I'm 32 weeks with my second child. I've felt terrible during both pregnancies. I don't know whether that's because I'm particularly bad at being pregnant or whether it's because of the ME or a combo of both. The good news though is that after having my first I felt better than I had in years and that continued until I fell pregnant again. DC1 has never been a great sleeper but I coped much better with a newborn than I did being pregnant.

I have hypermobility syndrome which causes fatigue. Only 11 weeks so still first trimester, and have been very wiped. Could sleep all day. But that's normal really isn't it!

I've mostly found my M.E. has been better and my fatigue has been more like normal pregnancy fatigue. I do have some bad days though & have to rest up. I'm 21 weeks. I've had very little advice from consultants & I am worried about the labour. I was told by a consultant this week that they wouldn't do anything differently for me during labour which is disappointing as I they clearly don't understand the condition. I've read tips to take food to keep your energy levels up during labour - not sure I'll feel like eating though!

Sorry to hear you're struggling. It can be hard to distinguish between the M.E. and the side effects of pregnancy which are quite intense. Hope the iron makes you feel better x

Hello, I'm a bit late to the thread but I'm glad I found it!

I am 33 weeks pregnant, have had M.E. since I was 10 with plenty of relapses and remissions. I've been reasonably healthy in the last few years but I'm finding it hard being pregnant. There's the exhaustion of course, and the 'brain fog' is back with a vengeance.

I have been referred to a obstetric consultant and I was wondering whether anyone has any advice on what I should ask him? My main concern is having the stamina for labour and the possible delayed onset fatigue afterwards.

Thanks and I hope you are all as well as possible!
