So yes that really.
Is it normal to have back pain already and will it only get worse from here?

I've been asking myself the same thing. I'm 20 weeks and for the last two weeks I can't walk more than a couple of minutes or even stand for long before the pain means I need to sit down urgently. My mum says I can expect it to get worse :(

I'm 16 weeks too and started with back pain this week Sad

Oh dear cornberry that is not great news (though I knew it was a long shot to hope it would magically get better)

At least I am not the only one, I suppose I expected this to happen later on rather than this early.

I've also had lower back pain, especially when I've been exercising, lying down or sitting, when I get up I can hardly move. I also get this when I'm on my period too. Must be hormonal.
I'm 15 weeks.

Yes completely normal, there's a chance that it will continue throughout your pregnancy and after you've given birth. still happening 14 months later
Massages, hot baths are amazing for easing back ache. Have you all checked your pillows? It may be worthwhile adding another to your bed for you to lie on, does ease the pressure.
Its all worth it though Smile

At the scans ask if the baby is back to back, back pain can be a sign of that although some people get back pain when the baby is in the right position but lying funny. It is better to know if the baby is as they can try and rotate it later on or you can help shift the baby.

I have had 2 back to backs not picked up on last scan, baby might have moved after last scan. Baby has plenty of room/time to move but it is a problem as they get bigger. I found no one was helpful with my 2 and i only found out in Labour, even then it seemed as though no one believed me, theres a thread on here about back to back somewhere

I don't know a great deal about it but if you go into Labour and baby is back to back it is a lot more painful

I only started looking into it after my last DD but all the signs were there although i did have back pain with dd2 who wasn't back to back. Many people don't know anything about it, was never mentioned to me in classes or by my midwife and many people dont realises even after giving birth that they have had a back to back baby. Of course it might not be this but its worth checking the position of the baby later on if the back pain stays or gets worse

My dsis swears by her osteopath, she went once a month after she found out she was expecting twins. I think I need to find one as have had sacroiliac joint pain for the past 4 weeks and it's steadily getting worse and I'm not doing anything extra. Am 21 weeks and have a 6 year old and 1 year old, so no putting feet up for me :(

are you still wearing heels? I had to give mine up at 20 weeks because they made my back hurt. it stopped as soon as I switched to flats.

I also found some chairs made my back hurt. if you're working try swapping your chair...
