Thank you.
JustaQuicky-I think I had issues with some powders when I was younger including Daz but haven't had a problem with anything laundry related in years (now body lotions, that's a different story).
I've washed the first load of stuff without but I can't see me keeping this up for long as their clothes will just get bunged in with everything else!

I wash all new clothes for the children and me/DH. I wouldn't dream of not doing it.

2015 Yes, having eczema yourself means your baby is more likely to have it, so it's best to be a bit more careful with stuff like fabric conditioner and scented detergents.

I love the smell of Daz, but it makes my OH's eczema so bad he bleeds, so I can't use it. Neither of us can use Ariel. We're both fine with sainsbury's own brand bio liquid, but I'll probably switch to the non bio while baby is little, just to be safe, and just bung it all in with non bio.

I also wash all my own clothes before wearing them. Not only to get rid of the anti-mould chemicals, but also to get rid of excess colouring in them. That way, I can later on just bung them in with the rest without having to worry about the colours bleeding.

I haven't done this for dd (6 months).

ShootPeppaPig · 10/04/2015 19:19

I vaguely remember washing things using ecover and White vinegar (instead of softener) as there was a thing about chemicals and flame retardants when DS was born (apparently the vinegar reduced the toxic load or something like that )

I wash all new clothes that come into our house, whether for babies or adults.

I've found fairy to be rubbish. Persil non bio is much better and very gentle on baby's skin. Comfort softener is much nicer than fairy softener too, thh fairy one is like water imo.
