Hi,

I just wondered how you get this? I have my anomaly scan when I'll be 21+ 6 then won't be seeing my midwife until I'm 25+ 2. Don't I have to have sent the form to my employers by then? How do I get it?

My work requested it at 20 weeks, my midwife wasn't planning on giving it to me until the 28th week and was funny about giving it earlier despite my employer being the same health trust as my antenatal care. I got it at 20 weeks anyway. Might be worth asking your HR team how particular they are about having it by 25 weeks exactly as you may find they are ok getting it after your next midwife appointment

I just called my doctors, explained that my work needed it prior to 25 weeks and the midwife left it at the front desk for me to collect

Ive just put a text into my midwife as my next appt is at 25 weeks and my employers (nhs) want it in by 25 weeks.

MATB1 form is not actually needed by work until much later - you have to provide within 21 days of the start of your SMP. If you're not claiming SMP you never need to have one!

You do have to give official notice in writing to work 15 weeks prior

There's lots of bad advice on this out there!

Like applecore, I just sent the midwife a text saying I needed it asap and she left it at reception at the local GP practice for me that day. Not a problem!

they dont need the MatB1 until later, they don't need it at 25 weeks - it needs to be given within 21 days of the SMP start date.

I also need it to give to the train company so that I can be allowed to sit in First class after 20 weeks. I'll contact her in a few weeks and ask if she can leave one for me.

Thanks

I got mine at 22 weeks. My work know I have it but I keep forgetting to take it in (I only work weekends) and they aren't too fussed about it, as long as I remember to take it in soon!

Skeppers · 07/04/2015 17:59

I just wanted to get all the paperwork out the way as soon as I could, so it's all just done! Can forget about it now and HR have confirmed my dates, so it's all sorted. One less thing to worry about!

I've found midwives to be really weird about supplying matb1s. Given an awful lot of women need them they never seem to provide them unless nagged!
